When Estelle heard the reason why everyone had been recalled, she gathered up a few things and headed over to see Miran. Other than chamomile tea and chocolate, she wasn't sure what else Miran might need, but that was what house calls were for. She rang the doorbell and waited.
The door opened and Miran stood there. She was dressed for once in black pants and a dark green tunic top, belted at the waist. And in her hand she held a very nasty looking dagger. Her hair was braided down her back. She paused at the sight of Estelle. "Doctor?" She asked curiously, not moving from the door way. "Is something wrong?"
"Is that a daedric dagger?" Estelle wondered. "You're not going to use it on me, are you? Can I come in for a bit?"
"Uh sure." Miran moved back. "Sorry, I am very on Edge at the moment." She glanced out into the hallway and then sealed the door behind Estelle. "My guardian gave me express orders to only let people in I know."
Estelle nodded. "I understand." Having stepped in, she opened the basket and took out the thermo. "Would you like to have some tea with me?"
"Uh.. sure... sorry." Miran put the dagger down and ran a hand over her braided hair. "It's been a rough few hours." She waved to the coffee table in the lower level's living area. "Please have a seat."
"I know it has been", Estelle said. "That's why I thought you could use some company." She sat down and filled two mugs with the soothing liquid.
Miran sat down opposite of Estelle. "Did you hear what that Commodore's aide did?" she asked.
Estelle shook her head. "No, they were fairly civil in sickbay. One of them even found my Tea-Rex that got misplaced." She handed her a steaming mug. "What did he do?"
"The one named Percy... he decided on his own that because Phoenix is missing that he should contact my next of kin... thing is.. I am considered a political refugee and have federation citizenship.... but he contacted the Erisian government to come and collect me." Miran was seething. "Thank you" she said re the tea.
"That's what happens when people act before they think", Estelle said. "Based on the fact this is the first time I'm hearing about it, I trust you didn't actually use your dagger on him yet?"
"No. Not yet. Jaeih wouldn't let me gut him. She took away several of my knives." Miran pouted. "But if he doesn't apologize I will use it on him."
"You think a failed apology is worth brig time?" Estelle asked. "And here I thought I'd offer you could stay with Liorga and me, if you don't want to be alone at night? We both know what it's like, thanks to recent events."
"Thank you for the offer. But my sister had a will in place. Master Chief Waters has been named as my guardian. He is currently getting his things from his cabin." She smirked "Well whatever is there and not here anyway."
"Ah, good", Estelle smiled. "I know having Gallia around to calm my nerves was crucial on Cortic."
Miran shrugged. "Having him as my guardian keeps me on the ship, nothing more. I am sure that if Percy Albright, could he would have me in a shuttle already."
"Does he know about the circumstances?" Estelle asked. "I talked to Garrett Lovejoy during my lunch break, because I was wondering whether that inspection way, maybe, brought on by tabloid journalism. He promised me he'd look into it, and he doesn't seem to be such a bad guy. I don't know about Albright, though. I haven't met him."
"He didn't even ask. he just contacted the Erisian Representatives to the Federation. If they get on board..." She broke off. "My sister will kill him. When we find her, and rescue them, she will kill him." Miran seemed certain.
"Does security know they're not supposed to come anywhere near you?" Estelle asked. She was sure there wouldn't be any killing, but she wasn't going to argue with Miran at this point.
"If Commander Holmes was here, I'd say yes. But there is a new guy in charge while she is gone.. I don't know him very well. But I know there are a few people who will keep me safe anyway."
"Might still be a good idea to ring him up and let him know?" Estelle suggested. "The more people you've got on your side, the less actual protecting anyone will have to do."
"Like he would have time for a kid." Miran shrugged. "I am just playing it by ear I guess."
"He'll have time for the skipper's kid sister", Estelle offered. "But if you feel safe in here, that's all that matters. You're eating all right?" She took a sip of the tea.
Miran nodded. "Yeah. Ken insists" she smirked. "He is pretty pedantic about eating right."
"You mean to say, he's worse than I am?" Estelle asked.
"Hmm, not sure", came the impish reply.
"Very good, then", Estelle smiled. "Is there anything I can do for you? And I'm really not just asking to be polite, I mean it."
Miran sighed. "Keep an ear out for strangers on board." She suggested.
"I will", Estelle agreed. "It's next to impossible to sneak anyone onto a starship without people knowing and talking about it anyway."
"My brothers... are sneaky." Miran said softly. "I wouldn't put it past them"
