The sea was warm and fragrant, as it gently rolled across the two lovers who were currently lounging back in a king-sized chaise lounge. Moses Henderson gently holding the right hand of the woman he loved, as she lay next to him, as the simulated noon-day sun, as seen from the tropical island of Bora Bora, slowly moved overhead.

"See, sweety?" He say softly, his deep base rumbling gently along with the breeze, "I told you that you'd love this program."

"Yeah... it's nice," she commented, seemingly lost in thought as she stared ahead at the simulated horizon. She was a Master Sergeant. She was going to have to punch an officer to get busted back down. She was almost respectable now. "Who's idea was it to promote me? Couldn't have been the colonel. She knows better, or at least she better."

This comment earned a warm chuckle from the gentle giant. "Gam, you know you more than deserve the stripes. Hell, you should be Top by now, all the experience, and more importantly, the loyalty and respect you have earned. While I know every Marine on this ship would march through the Seven Gates of Hell for the Colonel, if she asked them to....for you, they'd tear it all down and bring you Satan's throne to sit on."

He shifted his bulk so he was looking directly at her. "You know it's true, babe. The Colonel may be the brain....you are the heart."

"Yeah, yeah. Stop blowing sunshine up my ass," she chuckled. "But this, even if it is simulated is nice. How are you feeling? Any trouble with your Injury?"

Moses gave Gami a wide toothy grin, thrn laid back down next to her, taking her hand into his again. "There are other things I'd like to do to that sweet ass of yours," he said suggestively. Then he continued. "While I don't feel fully back to normal, I do feel like I'm definitely on the road to full recovery." He turned his head to look back at her. "How about you, Baby-girl?"

"Yeah," she said slowly "But then again, I wasn't impaled by one of those harpoons. I still can't believe you snuck out of medical during the last attack."

This caused a soft chuckle to vibrate in the big man's powerful chest. "Sorry, Gam. The Chief was eager to get out into the thick of it, and I wasn't going to let him go alone." He paused a beat, then continued in a lower voice, full of concern.

"I'm worried about him, Babe. Man'darr hasn't been the same since Jessica died. He's been really depressed lately. I'm worried that he wants to hurt himself, or worse."

She looked at him. "No. He's a Capellan, stubborn as a Tarkarian Bull. But Capellans don't believe in suicide --only death in battle. He was exiled from Capella Four at a young age. Worked his way up from Private. With losing his love, death in battle is all he really has to look forward to."

Moses considered this for a couple beats, then responded solemnly. "If he's feeling that way...what's to stop him from taking an unnecessary risk in the next bit of combat we face? By going in with a deathwish, he might end up getting other Marines killed. Or worse, some of the civilians we have on board."

He turned his head to look over at her. "Should we tell the Colonel? You know the two of them the best."

Gami was quiet. To be honest, she was starting to worry about her friend. She sure as hell didn't envy her in her position. "She has enough on her plate. I'll keep an eye on him, though. Besides, take Man'darr out of the picture and this detachment not only loses a damn good fighter and Marine but the only qualified officer in the detachment for the XO position. I'm sure as hell not trusting a damn lieutenant to the position.²

This drew forth an agreeing chuckle from Moses. "I agree. The only other officers I'd trust in the spot is David, but he's got his hands full right now with his newborn and dying wife." The big man grew silent as he worried about his oldest friend. "We have lost so much this past year." He gripped Gami's hand a bit firmer. "I'm glad we finally decided to give us a chance, sweetheart. Your love and devotion have been a rock for me during this past several months of hell."

"Oh, be quiet, you big softy," she teased. He was right. The past year had been hard on the crew "What if we moved on together?". She immediately couldn't believe she said those words.

He turned his eyes towards her and beamed happily. "Nothing would make me happier than to spend my life with you, Gami." He lifted her hand to his lips and gently kissed her knuckles.

"I can't believe I just said that..." she paused as she thought it over. "But I mean it."

He shifted closer to Gami, draping his powerful right arm over her body as he leaned in and kissed her gently, yet passionately, on her mouth.

After the kiss broke. Gami looked at Moses. "So, when do I move in?"

Grinning happily, he looked down into her beautiful eyes and replied, "How about now? We could go requisition bigger quarters, since our bunk rooms are too small for two to live in."

"Only because of your big butt. But sure, let's go. It shouldn't be a problem," Gami replied before slowly standing and stretching lightly.

Moses pretended to be offended by Gami's remark, as he stood and turned, displaying his muscular backside. "Don't hate me because I'm beautiful!" He then flexed playfully for her, giving her plenty of time to enjoy the view.

Gami couldn't help but laugh at Moses before smacking him on the rear. "Alright, alright. Let's go," she said before taking one last look at the beach. "Computer. End program.". The beach vanished, replaced by the black and yellow grid of the holodeck.

Moses smiled warmly as he reached out and took her right hand in his left, his powerful fingers wrapping gently around her hand as they exited the holodeck. "Perhaps next time, we find a nice cozy alpine cabin, roaring fireplace and some blankets to wrap up together in?'

"That sounds like a plan," she replied with a wink and a smile
