Gary was in his quarters back aboard the Elysium. He along with Liselle, Phoenix ,Lia and Taam had been rescued from the Romulan prison. His quarters were dark as dark as his soul. He had killed Pig and countless other Romulans at the prison and felt no remorse. Was that bad? He didn't know and he didn't spend time thinking on it. What he did know was his friendship with Liselle was over. It had crashed and burned while they were inmates at the prison. It had been bad enough when they both had been stripped naked and bound. It was the Romulans way to break him by torturing Liselle and she had suffered from it. So much so that she had pointedly told him it was his fault they were all here and even more so his fault she was being beaten. He didn't blame her in the least for saying what she had. He hoped she could one day forgive him. However it still stung, intensified his loneliness. Her bitter words "I will never forgive you." Still rang in his ears and intensified the guilt he already carried from their capture.

He thought of a song to try and show Liselle that despite her angry, bitter words he still cared a great deal for her. After all she had been his partner on so many wild west adventures as well as providing a ready ear to listen to him when needed. She had always supported him up until this last disastrous mission. Then a song came to mind "Computer play Thank you for Being a Friend by Andrew Gold." He hoped Liselle would like the song she had already shown she liked the old Rock and Roll. As the song played he reflected on how he got here to this point. He knew he could never take away the humiliation and pain both mental and physical that Liselle had suffered, The guilt he felt would never go away."Computer save song and send to Commander Liselle Qwyyn." That done Gary hoped the song served as a bridge and they could put this nightmare behind them and rediscover their friendship.
