Brief Interview with Ms Elisha Pryce-Randal - onboard Ship Reporter

EPR: What is your role on the Elysium? And what does it entail?

AB: My main role, my new role incidentally, is in diplomacy. So first contact missions, any sort of inter-power conflict, it all falls in my lap. I also act as an advisor to the command crew and I'm still helping Gallia... Lt. Norris, who took over Ops from me, get things set up over there.

EPR: What made you choose that line of work?

AB: Well, I didn't so much choose it as I was chosen for it. We very nearly had an incident on our last mission, one I was able to defuse, and there's still some fallout from it to come, and the spot was open so I was moved into it as reward for that success. Plus my aunt is an Ambassador and I worked for her for nearly three years, so that helped.


EPR:How do you handle the pressure that comes with being a Starfleet officer?

AB: I drive a tank, a T-34/85, and it's such a great release.


EPR: What would you say to a cadet aspiring to do what you do?

AB: Never give up and stay focused. That was my mom's advice to me, I think it's solid.

EPR: What is your favorite memory of your time at the academy?

AB:The academy can be very lonely, especially your first year, but I was so lucky that my best friends, Tallia and Tina, and I were able to room together the whole way through. Felt so bad for poor Tallia when we graduated and she still had four years at Starfleet Medical to go through alone...


EPR: Do you have any funny tales to tell about your time on the USS Elysium?

AB: Well, the funniest one is still really sad for me, but I've had a lot of good times here. I guess the best was the 1985 Halloween Party Gallia threw, the one where the zombies attacked. I thought her pretty little chin was going to drop right into the punch bowl when I demonstrated my archery skills. Guess she forgot Russians are, traditionally, amongst the best bowmen in Earth's history. The funny part though is there was some kind of glitch in her program, right? And one of the late arriving zombie guests was Michael Jackson and all the zombies started doing "Thriller!" I told her I'd help her fix her programs, and I did, just.... just not that one.
