Phoenix half rose from her seat on the bridge as members of her crew were beamed away. Soon she was alone there. "Avalon!" she called out.
No response.
She stood fully upright, and with her left heal kicked the chair behind her. The panel on the side of the chair dropped to the deck and she retrieved the long dagger she kept there. She had a bad feeling about this.
"Computer, response."
Silence greeted her. She turned for her ready room and when she approached the door, nothing happened. Scowling, she turned again and found herself facing the turbolift as it opened and out of it, strode Ambassador T'Prel.
"A whole 24 hours, a new record." Phoenix quipped as she warily studied the Vulcan. "a whole 24 hours before someone tries to take over the Elysium."
"Tries Captain? I succeeded." The Vulcan replied. She removed her hands from her sleeves and Phoenix noted the phaser pistol in her hands.
"So you beamed everyone off the bridge. To where? Outside?"
"Oh no. Your crew is in lock down. Your computer responds only to me. And You captain are going to lay down that blade and surrender."
"You wish." Came the cold response. "You hacked the Elysium and took over its computer, that is an act of treason."
"One which will be laid at your feet." T'Prel replied. "I am merely taking the ship back from you." She smirked. "See how it works out Captain? You'll never prove differently."
Phoenix didn't give a verbal reply, instead she had been tracking the phaser and knew it was coming to bear. She dove for the floor as a bolt seared over head. She cursed in Erisian and rolled away from the Ambassador. A vulcan smirking? Romulan had to be.
"So you are what? Romulan? Impersonating a Vulcan?" She called out as she made it to in front of the operations console.
A brittle laugh came from the other woman. "Neither. I am not what I have been pretending to be for the past 25 years."
Phoenix glanced over the console and ducked back as the brief glimpse showed the 'Ambassador' began to morph. Changeling? Alsamorph? What difference did it make? She was a sitting duck on the bridge, and this was gonna suck.
