Departmental Promotion

Casper was confused/worried and had wondered exactly what he had done. Commander Holmes... Lia as she prefered to be called had instructed him to meet with the Captain but didn't state as to why. He was worried that he had done something or that he was being transferred off the ship; it usually wasn't a good thing when an Assistant Chief was being hauled in front of the Captain and their Departmental Chief. Arriving on the Bridge Casper moved over to the Ready Room and after having a quick glance down to ensure that 1) his uniform pants/uniform was actually there and 2) everything was in order, he tapped the notification button to state that he was outside the door awaiting entrance.

Lia was busying herself when the chime went off, looking at Phoenix she pressed the entry button. "Ah Lieutenant, your here. Please sit down, the Captain will be with you shortly".

Casper looked at Lia, "Any idea why I am here. It's not often that an Assistant Chief is before his Chief and the Captain."

"I'll let the Captain fill you in, all I will say is. Sit down and stop panicking, the Captain doesn't bite". Taking her place along side her Deputy, she waited for Phoenix to speak.

Phoenix grinned at the comment about biting. "Not hard anyway." She said. "At ease Lieutenant. Please sit, both of you." she waved them to chairs.

Sitting down, Lia turned to Casper. "Don't fret, if she does bite I've got Medical on stand by". She turned to Phoenix and grinned, "Always keep your options open, that's what you always say".

Casper grinned as he sat down after the ladies. He was still a bit concerned in why he was here.

Phoenix picked up a Padd. "Yesterday I was informed that Lt. Commander Morris was being transferred off the Elysium. Without consultation and against his own wishes. This left a hole in the security department, so I have had to do some crew rearranging. Commander Holmes has gracefully accepted being moved back to her old position. This means, Lieutenant Thornhill, that effective immediately you are now Chief of Intelligence and head of the CDID."

Casper nearly fell off his chair to such a blow. He had never thought that he would have been put in charge of a Department this soon in transferring to the Elysium. He had to take a deep breath before he could say anything, actually he had to take several, "Thank-you Ma'am!"

Lia now looked at Casper and extended her hand, "Well done Lieutenant, just do me one favour. Don't get transferred, I can't handle two departments". She smiled as she spoke, and wished Casper luck in his new job.

Shaking Lia's hand he smiled, "Trust me I don't plan on it. One of these days our Departments will need to have a friendly competition." She had some really great ideas for the CDID that Casper was going to also incorporate into the Department.

"Hey, its gonna be a lot of work. So if you want help, just ask me ok?" Lia smiled and looked at both Casper and Phoenix, "I think the Captain will need your assistance down on the planet, very soon Lieutenant".

Casper looked at the Captain, "What's going on down on the planet?" He was all business now something was up and it was time to work.

"Currently we have several teams down there looking for a missing officer and a slave ring. You and Commander Holmes should co-ordinate efforts with Major Azhul." Phoenix said.

Lia looked at Casper, "Both the Major and I will take a team down to assist with the search, the Major is going to search where she last saw the Security Officer. My team will be searching a small homestead some distance away, it has underground storage which doesn't fit with its appearance. Now you can attach your self to the Major's or my away team, or with your own department. Create one of your own, but I would suggest splitting your team between the Major and me".

"I'll attach myself to you Commander and Lieutenant Sh'iss and Ensign Micheals can go with the Major," Casper replied cool and calm. This was going to be his first mission on the Elysium and it was about time that the CDID stretched its legs and got its feet wet.

Looking at both Casper and the Captain, Lia nodded. "I'll contact you once we have a go, and welcome to the team".

Phoenix smiled and said "Good luck to you both. Dismissed"
