Hiding in plain sight

Posted on Mon Jan 6th, 2020 @ 1:08am by Lieutenant M'Tuuri Sh'iss [S'hib] & Lieutenant Casper Thornhill

Mission: Casperia Prime - A lesson in relaxation
Location: Deck 44
Timeline: MD 4
1390 words - 2.8 OF Standard Post Measure

M'Tuuri slinked about quietly on deck forty four, she had been avoiding as much of the crew as possible since slipping aboard two days prior. It hadn't been difficult to avoid detection however, not that she was surprised, nobody questioned a pretty woman in uniform walking about the ship after all.

In the two days aboard the Elysium, M'Turri had learnt a great deal about the crew and her new Chief, even going so far as to sit in the mess hall and spark up a few conversations while watching him from afar with her bright yellow eyes.

But now it was time to reveal herself and meet her new Chief, the anticipation sent a shiver down her tail, the tip fluttering ever so slightly as she padded inside the Office complex of the C.D.I.D

Sneaking around quietly she found her way past the few personal on duty before stopped outside the Chief's office, a small grin on her furred lips as she placed a small metallic device onto the door.

In truth she had every right to be here, she was just...early. "Annnd click." M'Tuuri purred as the door quietly disengaged its locks, and she moved inside, mindful to remove the device before shutting the door.

"He ssshould be starting his shift soon." M'Tuuri murred quietly, her bare feline feet prancing towards Lieutenant Thornhill's desk. "Time to get comfy..." She said, jumping up onto the desk with hauntingly quiet grace before sitting down and facing the door.

Casper had stopped by the Coffee Mess on deck Forty Three before he moved down to the CDID area, he needed into ensure that he had enough coffee to start this Duty shift. He carried a PaDD with several items on it and glanced at it as he was in the turbo lift. It chimed once letting him know that there was an unauthorized access into his new office, he frowned at that and had initially thought to bring all of Security/Marines/CDID down on who or whatever was currently in his office but he decided against it figuring he would deal whoever and whatever on his own. He nodded to the Intelligence Members that were currently on duty and made his way over to his office.

He tapped on the console to open the door and then proceeded through, his left hand was holding his PaDD but his right hand had slipped behind him where he kept a small K Bar knife ready to throw it at the intruder. His hand released the KBar when he noticed it was a female Caitian in a Starfleet Uniform sitting on his desk, "Hello Sh'iss," he said walking up to his desk. Casper had read through all his new arrivals and had actually thought she would have reported in a few days ago, he was also about to get the ship to transport her to the interrogation room for her to report in but like all Intelligence Officers he figured she had a plan and he was curious to see how it played out.

"I'm glad to see you're not surprised," M'Tuuri purred, still content to sit crosslegged upon his desk, her tail curling around the chair behind her, causing it to gently swivel about itself. "Have you been watching me as well then sir?" She added, tilting her head slightly as she glanced up at him from atop his desk.

"I saw you in the Mess a few days ago. I had figured that you were going to report in then but you hadn't. There are not many Caitians on the vessel so you kinda stand out within the crew," he replied as he strolled over to his desk and took a seat. He was pleased to have a member that had Ranger training within the Department, "Are you enjoying your time on the vessel so far Lieutenant?"

"Well... I'm not sssupposed to be here for another few days, not officially anyway." M'Tuuri replied, moving her long dainty legs off the desk and onto the floor, barely making a sound. "I just wanted to sssee if anyone was purring attention." She added, moving around her chiefs desk, the tip of her tail fluttering past his face as she moved around to his chair.

"Yes, apparently I need to have a few conversations with the members out at their work stations," he replied setting his PaDD down on the desk. It wasn't a good start for her to be able to get so far into the Department without anyone asking any questions. While they wore Command red they were not within the actual Command Department and questions should have been raised about someone coming into the area that was not familiar, "I have an assignment for you when you start your Duty rotation," he said looking at her with a grin.

“I could start now If you’d like,” She grinned back, casually sitting in his chair. “But you’ll have to say purrlease first.” She added, teasing the words off of her tongue with a soft growl as she examined the man before her, the slight worry in his eye amusing her greatly.

The "purrlease" comment he would let past he realised that he was going to have to read up on this race as he hadn't really encountered them often enough, "It's okay. When you're ready to come to work, there isn't really any rush on this assignment. Its gonna be an ongoing working project for you."

Spinning slowly in his chair, quietly purring she considered his words for a moment. "You know," She finally said, beginning to face away from him as the chair continued to rotate. "I started working the moment I came aboard..." She added, starting to rotate back around, slowly tilted her head to meet his gaze once more.

"Ssso what's thisss assignment you have for me?" M'Tuuri purred before trailing her tongue over the side of her clawed finger, rubbing the wet fur against her cheek while waiting for his response.

"Your task will be to reteach stealth and hand to hand combat to the Department," Casper replied with a smile, "I would like to see all new members trained up to your standard within 30 days of coming into the Department. You can use whatever Departmental personnel to ensure that this task is completed."

"Does that include you, Sir?" She grinned, her sharp fangs protruding onto her lower lip. "Or do you think you're already up to my ssstandard..." M'Tuuri growled playfully, her slits widening into deep black orbs as she examined the Chief.

"That includes me feline," a good leader partakes in all training even if he knew it was up to at least his standard, "write down a training routine and then submit it for approval."

M'Tuuri rolled her eyes up at the comment before snapping them back to his, her pupils narrowing sharply while her nose and upper lip twitched to a high pitched note that left her mouth. "Purrhaps some of you apes will manage to not disappoint me..." She hissed with a meagre amount of disdain. "...This is awfully comfy." M'Tuuri interjected, distracted by the Chief's chair that she had so gracefully taken as her own.

Casper quietly chuckled to himself at her annoyance to being called a feline he walked over behind his desk to his chair, "Speaking of. Your time in it is up in it. Maybe one day you will be in it full time but not yet."

"I prrrefer fieldwork..." She replied, lazily standing up as she did so. "Besides..." M'Tuuri added, moving past Casper face with a purring sniff, taking in her Chiefs scent before slinking towards the door, her slender curves being arrogantly flaunted. "I need you to keep it warm for me." She added as she reached the door, letting out a small growl like cackle as she padded back out into the office complex.

Capser watched the Officer leave. Shaking his head slightly he decided that he needed to read up on his Caitian and her Personal file to see if it was all Caitians that were like this or just her. Sitting down Casper opened his computer screen and then looked back at the door where she had left, shaking his head again he started to work.

END.
