Baxter pressed himself into the wall more, shaking slightly. He had just spent all day being interrogated by Starfleet, and now one of them wanted to 'talk' to him. From his experience that did not mean anything good.
Relan protect me he thought, as the door slid open with it's signature hiss. The man in front of him was older--probably mid 50s or early 60s--and wore red instead of the grey he had been used to seeing. The rank also looked different--two boxed circles rather than the others.
"I said I don't want to talk to anyone!" Baxter shouted, wishing he could meld with the wall.
"I know you did, but I don't want to hurt you, all I want to do is talk."
"That's what those others said! I said I don't know anything! Why couldn't you people just leave me alone to honor the lost and then join them! I survived only because that's my purpose to the gods!" Baxter looked around the room for a potential weapon, finding nothing.
"There's got to be some other reason you survived, Teivus can't support life, so unless you had some sort of technology to help you, there's no way you survived. So pray to whatever gods you believe in, because my men aren't going to let up until you let us in on your secrets." The man said, turning to leave, but not before issuing an order to the men at the door, "step it up. Threat level 4."
