Durak sighed in frustration. The Major had been kidnapped, their comms were still being jammed in the middle of nowhere and Warrant Officer Mandar was injured. Until Man'darr recovered, they had to stay put.

"I can't believe they got the Major!" a female Andorian Marine yelled in anger. "Where the he'll did they come from anyways?"

"Probably used some kind transporter, Sergeant," Durak answered.

"No shit, PFC Durak!"

"Stop that damn yelling!" Man'darr growled. His entire body ached as he pushed himself up to a sitting position. "I have a headache from hell! Now report."

"The Major was taken by the pirates, Sir. Comm is still being jammed. Likely a jamming device to delay us from contacting the Elysium," Durak reported.

"Dammit," Man'darr cursed as he pushed himself to his feet. "Let's find the source of that jamming signal now and start looking for those pirate bastards."

"You heard the man, form up and move out!" the Andorian Sergeant said. "PFC Durak, try to get us a reading."

Durak checked his tactical scanner. "The emissions are strongest from the Northwest. Probably...5 kilometers."

"Damn. That's one hell of a jammer," Man'darr commented. "Let's move out. The faster we get there, the better. Keep quiet and sharp."

The small group of battered Marines made their way through the thick forest. The overgrowth hindering their progress. After an hour, they came to the area.

Durak scanned the area again. "We must be near it because my scanner is next to worthless."

"Spread out and look for anything out of place," Man'darr ordered.

The Andorian Sergeant's antennae twitched as it picked up an electrical signal. She raised her rifle and began to move towards the area a dozen feet away. Her eyes went to a pile of leaves and fallen branches. Kicking them asaide, revealed a blinking red light. "Sir! I found something."

Man'darr and the other Marines rushed over to see the device.
"Good work, Sergeant. Stand back," he ordered as he leveled his phaser rifle at the device and fired two shots, sending a shower of sparks upwards.

"My scanner is working again!" Durak exclaimed. Finally something was going right.

"Warrant Officer Man'darr to Elysium, come in."

"This is Elysium. Report, Warrant Officer Man'darr."

"We were ambushed over an hour ago by Pirates. Major Azhul was abducted during the firefight. Until now, our comms were being jammed."

"Stand by to be beamed up to Sickbay to get check out and debriefed."

"Understood," Man'darr replied. He would rather get more Marines and tear this planet apart looking for the Major. But orders were orders.

A moment later, the fireteam dematerialized into a swirl of blue energy and light.
