*Wanna do things with Nikita?*

The Anara emerged from warp near a Class M world. It was different from most Federation planets. For one it had a very formidable array of planetary defense satellites.

"Holy crap at the defense around this net, huh?" Nikita whistled approvingly, "This setup would be a dream come true for my Grandpa."

"Even as members of the Federation, our new homeworld is many weeks away from the nearest starbase." Alena noted. "When we colonized New Alindar, a week after we settled, a Romulan Task force arrived and demanded we vacate." Alena noted. "Fortunately the Federation stepped in on our behalf. The Romulans still want our new world, so they've offered to 'protect us' several times, they thought us naive, but we Alindari have experience with treachery. In fact, our children are amused greatly by intrigues and plots. Oh the drama. Game of Thrones is a best seller here." She chuckled.

"I watched that in history class on high school." Nikita laughed,"Mr. Chumley didn't seem to notice or care that it wasn't in anyway realistic or historical. But he was drunk all the time anyway. So this is home for you, I like it."

"She ship landed in what appeared to be a forested, alpine world, with a great city being built some of the structures were still freighter hulls from the refugee fleet, purposed into houses and other buildings, but the Alindari still spared no expense making transport and freighter hulls look beautiful.

The core of the city was even more stunning. All the splendor of Alindari architecture.

"Whoa..." Was all Nikita managed, this place was beyond his verbal capacity.

"We're still building the city and even a small starbase in orbit." Alena noted. "True we are members of the Federation, but we cannot always rely on Starfleet to solve our problems. The Federation is only as strong as long as its worlds are strong." Alena mentioned. "Everything the Federation is will die without every world doing it's utmost to contribute. It's not enough to have principles, Nikita. We also must have courage. This world has half the gravity of earth, We are not very strong. But our hearts are strong."

"My Grandmother, she likes to talk about our legendary ancestor, Marshall Zhukov." Nikita replied, "She always says he didn't defeat the wermacht with tanks but with hearts of steel, so I understand the concept, it's been drilled into my head for years."

A group approached. two elderly men along with three elderly women. "Greetings Empress, I imagine your journey to Earth has been fruitful?"

Alena smiled. "Indeed. I even brought a human home. He's quite fascinating. His name is Nikita."

"My Empress, you mean your courting a human? How unorphadox?" An elder woman stated calmly.

"Acamedician Selene... The Empress can take a consort of whom I choose. I'm not the King of Hiran." Alena chuckled. "And besides, he's cute."

"Cute..." One of the older males noted. "To think we tutored you as a child."

"Yes you did and I am infinitely grateful Acamedician Philus."

The other man spoke. "Ha!! She learned more from me than you ever did, Philus."

"A scholar mocks a artisan. The nerve." The two men began bickering an intellectual equable. Alena leaned towards Nikita's ear.

"That is Acamedician Philus. He heads the Artisan College. And his counterpart Torin leads the Scholars. They'll argue like this for hours, Torin will suggest some grand rational theory explaining existence, and Philus will refute it; citing the universe is a designed construct because beauty cannot be made through cold logical reason. Art versus science. They'll insult each other at first, then make up over a glass of Kayna." Alena chuckled.

"So their friendship is based on constant fighting." Nikita laughed, "Why not?"

"At least we don't fight using words." Selene mentioned.

"And this is Selene and the quiet one is Marshall Hala. Selene leads the College of Philosophy, and Marshall Hala leads the College of Defense. Selene would find a religious or an philosophy why the universe exists through the will of some deity, and Marshall Hala will come up with ways to defend it from the aforementioned deity."

"I see our empress' sense of humor is still as witty as ever." Hala said with her arms folded.

"Possibly her best feature." Nikita complimented, "It's a pleasure to meet all of you."

"C'mon. Nikita." Alena grabbed Nikita's arm and began to show him around. "These academics will literally talk your ear of, and you would have seen nothing of our world." She lead him to a vantage. "We've done all of this in about ten short years. It's never been easy." She mentioned and pointed towards the Palace. "They built me a palace." Alena chuckled. "I told them I didn't need a palace. I'm was comfortable with the ship I grew up on and my own comforts. But no... 'it would inspire the people.' Said the Chancellor." Alena noted and lead him towards her actual home. "This is actually home, though I sometimes go to the Palace to 'inspire the people.'"

It was a portion of a ship hull turned into a house, but Alena had covered it with her own decor and a large garden. It was very comfortable and welcoming too.

"Oh, thank God." Nikita laughed nervously, "Sorry, the Palace is a little more intimidating and far less homey than I like." He turned and wrapped his arms around her waist, "Not that I wouldn't get over it for you."

"Emperor Tywas never lived in his palace. He loved the wilderness. So do I, Nikita." She drew her arms around him. "And Empress Tirielle, the first empress, did not take a noble as a Prince Consort." She smiled. "Palace life never suited the woman who challenged Alindar's old barbaric warlords and created two millennia of learning and culture.:" She walked up to a small and modest shrine to Empress Tirielle in her garden. A strong woman holding a sword skyward with her right hand, with a book in her left. "Lady Tirielle valued knowledge and strength equally."

"Sounds like a real catch." Nikita smiled, kissing her head, "I know someone like that."

"I could be Empress for a thousand years, and never be anything like Lady Tirielle. Her life was struggle. Endless struggle. I however have done my best to inspire people to build anew on this world." She smiled. "But they're the ones who have become enthralled at the idea of the Federation. The concept that the Federation has defeated the Borg, not once, but twice, stunned all of my people. It amazed my cousin; Arrianna, who immediately applied to Starfleet Academy. I'm just a girl with a basketball really." She grinned.

"And a master of understatement." Nikita laughed, kissing her deeply and without hesitation, it seemed he'd found the one.

"Wow, you're direct." Alena noted. "I have to tell you. Alindari courtships are long and duration with a whole lot of this, that, preparation, and dull, dull, dull staring." She chuckled. "You ready to live the hard life out here building a future?"

"And Russian fly by the seat of our pants." Nikita shrugged, "But, we'll find the balance, it only took me a few seconds to realize you were worth it. By the way, which one of us gets to tell my Grandma we've run away together?"

"Oh I'll do that." Alena noted. "I'll just tell her that her grandson is going to be travelling with me across the galaxy. Doing all sorts of good, representing the Federation, sampling Barolian Chocolates, and he may become a prince consort." Alena noted. "She'll be thrilled in her own way. That woman is like a tightly closed box ya know." She grinned. "Usually I get to the heart of people instantly if I just appear like I'm just a girl with a basketball, but I could be Q and that woman will still be completely unreadable." Alena chucked her ball to Nikita and smiled. "Have you ever had a relationship with an Alindari. Both partners open their minds fully to each other. We're telepathic, and we share everything." She smiled. "It is very personal to new couples to share thoughts."

Nikita performed a quick crossover dribble and spun Alena's ball on his finger, "I'm ready to share anything with you." He said honestly, he was going full steam into this because he wasn't going to risk this woman getting away, "And Grandma's impossible to read, don't feel bad. I have no idea how she got so good at caging herself off, but it's true."

A man in a formal dark-gray suit walked up. "I think I'm going to like playing ball with you for a while." Alena chuckled

"This game's going to go into overtime." Nikita promised, "Might not end during your lifetime."
