Mission: Season 3: Episode 4: Cause and Effect
Location: Sickbay
599 words - 1.2 OF Standard Post Measure

Jessica walked into sickbay grading her latest batch of flight cadets. She leaned against the wall and waited while checking off several assignments."Close Mr. Daniels, try again next time." Jess mentioned.

Olivia had been busy with doing several of the implants that had been ordered for all of the crew. She had just finished up her short break when her next appointment showed up to get their implant done. "What you working on Commander?," Olivia asked as she walked towards her.

Jess smirked, "An excercise in unthinkable futility. I'm trying to train a bunch of twenty year olds to become fighter pilots. I might as well train kittens how to swim." She shut down her PADD. "It looks like I'm here for a physical, and starfleet decided I needed an implant. I hate implants, but orders are orders, so lets get it installed... and swiftly removed later on when this mission is over with...." She mentioned.

Olivia laughed a little. "Well if they don't learn how to be fighter pilots right away, you could always threaten them with sending them through medical training," Olivia replied. "The trackers aren't my first choice of having implanted either, but at least it a safety measure for this particular mission that we are heading out on this round."

"Just make sure it is removed later, By the Four Goddesses, if Lt. Ba'au ever learned I had a tracker in my neck." Jess noted. Her rivalry with the El'Aurian Chief Engineer on her last assignment was infamous.

"Don't worry, only purpose for the trackers is to ensure we don't lose anyone during this mission," Olivia replied. "Plus only a select few beyond the command staff knows about them."

Jess nodded. "Thank you Doc. As for my physical condition. You should know my hobbies." She noted. "I love flying, and space flight. I wake up each day, and do the old NASA Physical Regiment from the Jovian Missions. It's old, but effective in training someone how to move in zero gravity."

Olivia nodded slightly as she prepared the tracker. "Sounds like a challenge for someone not used to doing that type of training," Olivia replied. "Just don't over due it today with the training." Olivia reached up and injected the tracker into Jessica.

"Trust me. I'd rather be playing cards than to walk past a window and stare into an empty abyss." Jess noted.

"Anything is better than staring out into an empty abyss," Olivia replied. "It has been awhile since I've played cards. May have to brush up on it at some point."

Jess nodded. "If you need a distraction, my squadron is having a poker night. Note that all of my pilots are professionals and they do not hit on people. Consider yourself invited." She smirked.

"I might take you up on that, provided I get done here in time," Olivia replied. "Plus if any of them get out of hand, I have ways of setting them straight that they might not expect."

"Good, do it. I'm training Starfleet Officers, and the finest pilots in the Federation. I demand the highest quality of service and dedication to Starfleet. Anything less, and you have my permission to have them clean sickbay... Every last nook and cranny. To your satisfaction." Jess smiled. "I gotta go, Doc. Take care now."

"Trust me, they will end up doing a deep clean of Sickbay, should the need arise," Olivia replied. "Have fun whipping them in shape Commander." Olivia watched her patient get down from the bio bed and out of out Sickbay to return to her duties.
