Alicia arrived home ready to sit down and relax after what had felt like a very long shift. First of all the ship’s new Rev had been reassigned elsewhere and now Lunara Hol, it seemed like Starfleet was starting to struggle with numbers of Counsellor’s or so they were saying. How true that was Alicia wasn’t sure. It wasn’t as though every ship in the fleet had a Counsellor, smaller ships were deemed too small for a resident counsellor. Perhaps there were just less counsellor’s applying for roles aboard Starships.

Kicking off her shoes where they wouldn’t get tripped over she started unzipping her jacket as she walked into the bedroom to go and change into civvies. She liked to rest in something loose fitting not bound up in her uniform. Pulling out some other clothing it didn’t take long to change and fold up her uniform ready for another day. She normally got a couple of days out of a uniform before changing into a fresh one, unless she’d been with an away team anywhere.

Walking back into the living area she headed over to the replicator and picked herself a light snack, she’d eat a meal with Savar once he got home. As she walked across to the sofa to sit down she looked at the pictures that were displayed on top of the sideboard unit they had, Savar didn’t seem to mind that she wanted to keep a picture of Kal and herself there along with her picture of them.

For the first time in a long time she looked at the old scars she still carried on her wrists. Life at the time had seemed not worth living, Kal was gone and as a result of the trauma she’d suffered a miscarriage. It had all seemed too much to bear so she’d taken the nearest sharp object she could find and purposely slit her wrist. She started the second wrist and was about to finish off the job when the reality of what she was doing had hit her, the fact that Kal wouldn’t want her to die. He’d want her to live her life, to move on. That moment of clarity had saved her life, and she’d kept the scars as a reminder of how precious life was.

Looking at the photo of herself and Savar she smiled happily, she’d never imagined that she’d find love again so soon and with a Vulcan. Their bond was special, it went so much deeper than she could ever describe there simply wasn’t the words! Even when they were apart she could feel Savar with her, feel his love, his sheer presence within her kept her going through the hardest of days. If times were hard then she simply drew on their bond to see her through.

Eating her small plate of crackers and cheese she picked up a PADD off the table, she was still learning about what it was to be the bonded mate of a Vulcan. Savar was still teaching her and preparing her for when his time of Pon’farr would arrive, it was a whole new scale of bonding and her mind had to be ready for the sheer force of mental connection that she would go through. From what she understood it would be more or less off the scale compared to their current bond. It would cement their relationship in a way she had yet to fully understand. She wanted to be fully prepared and ready for when that time came.

Reading was only one of her favourite hobbies, she had a pile of movies that she enjoyed watching anything from comedy to action and adventure, horror to musicals. She was slowly getting through showing Savar her favourites, movie nights were fun! Plenty of snacks, cushions, a cosy blanket and Savar to cuddle up with. They’d have to plan their next movie night.

She looked at the chronometer on the wall, Savar would soon be home and she wanted to have dinner started and a drink waiting for him. She quite enjoyed the duties of doting wife, looking after her man when he got home from work. Although Savar would tell her it was not necessary, she did it anyway. Getting up she headed into their small kitchen area to get started on their evening meal.
