Heather was sitting all alone in her quarantine area in Sickbay, being a nurse she understood the need for quarantine when returning to the ship from an era that had a lot of illnesses and epidemics that no longer existed. There was always a chance of someone catching something unexpected. She wasn’t expecting any visitors as she knew Fernando would be working but her smile practically shone as she saw him enter the outer room looking for her.

Fernando was pointed to where Heather was at. He walked up to her though they were separated by the isolation barrier. "Are you alright?" He asked his concern for Heather evident by his tone and the look on his face.

“I am now you’re here!” Heather nodded still smiling. “This is just a precaution incase any of us picked up anything while we were on the surface. I’ll be able to hug you again in 3 hours!”

Fernando found a chair and pulled it up so he could sit and talk to Heather. "You sure you are okay?" He asked. Nothing was more precious than Heather.

“I’m one hundred percent sure I’m fine” Heather nodded. “I just wish I could touch you and have your company, but this will do until I get out of here.”

"Soon enough my turtle dove. We will be together again." Fernando promised his wife. "We will have a first class meal to celebrate your safe return."

“That sounds wonderful” Heather nodded enthusiastically. “I can’t wait to be home again, I have to admit I don’t much like Earth of 1664.”

"Not to your liking love?" Fernando asked, "What was it like?" He asked as he truly wanted to know.

“It was dirty, grotty and generally not very welcoming.” Heather pulled a funny face. “We were worried about catching something more than what we went down there for. “I must be sounding pretty awful about Earth but it wasn’t exactly how I was imagining it would be. Not that I really had a set idea for this period in time.”

Fernando couldn't help it but he laughed at Heather's funny face. "I'm sorry Heather. However you are home now, with your sonic shower and replicator and most of all the man who loves you very, very much."

Heather smiled the sweetest smile yet. “For that reason alone I’m extremely happy to be here. I don’t know what I did to earn you Fernando but I’m glad I did it!”

"No, no. It is I who am the lucky one. The day we found each other was the luckiest day of my life." Fernando said flashing a megawatt smile.

Heather practically swooned at Fernando’s smile, “Do you have any idea what that smile does to me?!” She lowered her voice. “Just wait until I get home later and I’ll show you!” She smiled a wry smile. “That’s providing none of us come down with anything in the next three hours.”

Seeing Heather smile and hearing her happiness in her voice made Fernando smile even bigger. "I can hardly wait Heather." He answered in a whisper not wanting any of the nurses to hear what he and heather were talking about.

“Perhaps we’d best talk about something else” She grinned. “This isn’t the most private place to talk at present.”

An excelent idea Heather. Hmm, I have it! What would you like for your getting out of quarantine meal?"

“What would I like?” Heather paused to think. “I’d like a good old fashioned roast dinner with all the trimmings! Just like my mother used to make when I was young. I don’t mind what meat you choose, I know the replicators aren’t brilliant at making proper roast meat but any meal made by you is good enough for me.”

"A roast dinner. I can arrange that with potatoes, and carrots perhaps some biscuits as well." Fernando replied, thinking just what he needed to pull this meal off for Heather." Rest assured Heather, you will have your roast dinner." he finished putting his hand on the isolation barrier.

Heather raised her hand and placed it on the other side of the barrier. “What I’d give right now to be able to touch you.” She looked at Fernando longingly. “It sounds silly doesn’t it, it’s not like we’ve been apart more than a few hours!”

Fernando shook his head, "It's not silly at all and I agree with those feelings. I just want to hold you in my arms Heather and never let you go. But soon we will be together again." He said brightly.

“That’s true and I can’t wait!!” She grinned like the proverbial Cheshire Cat.

"Not much longer my love." Fernando replied and then we can touch and hold each other as we want." Fernando observed.

Heather nodded. “Thank you for coming to make sure I’m alright, I’m sure you’ve been kept busy while we’ve all been off ship.”

"Oh, we had a few very minor issues to pop up. Nothing like being on the planet's surface of Earth of the past." Fernando replied.

“I wish you could have been there with me!” Heather grinned. “I think you might have actually enjoyed it.”

"Perhaps the next time there is an away mission the Captain will see fit to send us together." Fernando smiled. "I think I would have. I'm sorry I missed it."

“Perhaps but I’m not going to hold my breath!” Heather grinned. “As a married couple I’d be surprised if we got to go together, it might be considered conflict of interest. Besides I’m just a nurse, I might not get many opportunities to go on away party duty that often.”

"Yeah, you may be right Heather but it's nice to hope." Fernando replied then smiled again. "At least they can't keep us from sharing the same quarters."

“That’s true” Heather nodded. “Not now we’re married” She smiled warmly.

"That's right. Happily so." Fernando agreed, "They can't take that away from us."

“Something for which I feel eternally grateful” Heather smiled. “Looking back before you saved me from slavery I never thought I’d ever be happy again. I’m a very lucky woman.”

"I am the the lucky one Heather. I never knew how rich life could be until I met, fell in love and married you. It is been a wonderful, joyous experience which I wish to continue with us side by side."

Heather smiled warmly, “Well I’m not going anywhere, so you’re stuck with me anyway!” She grinned playfully and looked at the chronometer. “Roll on when this quarantine period is over.”

Fernando shook his head, " I never consider myself stuck with you Heather. Your being in my life is a constant reminder that good things do exist for which I am eternally grateful."

Heather smiled the biggest smile yet. “You are the most wonderful loving man ever you know that?”

"My love. I believe you reap what you sow and if what you say is true about me. It is because you my love are the most wonderful loving woman ever." Fernando replied with his biggest smile yet as he blew her a kiss through the barrier.

Heather blushed and blew a kiss back, hopefully it wouldn’t be long before she was out of isolation and back with Fernando.
