Once back aboard ship from their prospective away teams both Savar and Alicia were placed into quarantine as instructed by the Captain. Alicia had practically forced the Sickbay staff to put both Savar and herself in the same quarantine area, they were a married couple after all. Sitting on the biobed simply for somewhere to sit she smiled at Savar. “How did your team do?”

"I am afraid not well Alicia. We failed to locate Commander Westin. We did however wander along the streets and countryside." Savar answered with his usual directness. What about your team?"

“We got as far as getting into a bar and trying to look like we belonged” she shrugged her shoulders. “We’d barely got settled when the call to return came through. I’ll admit I didn’t much like this version of Earth, I much prefer our era.”

"Earth was still very much in a formative state. The seeds not yet planted." Savar replied. "The United States of America had not yet come into existence. There was no Constitution, no Declaration of Independence." He nodded at Alicia's comment of liking this era better. "This era has much to offer. Better quality of life, More personal freedom. I understand your reasoning."

“I guess I am being pretty cynical though aren’t I? Earth of the 1600s was much different to what we’re used to, I shouldn’t criticise it.” Alicia offered a smile. “It’s a good job that people there didn’t know about us, who knows what they’d have made of aliens in their midst!”

"Indeed. I believe there would have been a citywide panic to know aliens walked among them. How far we have come to see other species and not even raise an eyebrow at a Klingon or Andorian or Vulcan."

“Indeed” Alicia smiled. “I’m lucky I’m from a race that looks humanoid, we Betazoids blend in as Human it’s not so easy for you with your Vulcan heritage and the various other species with their differences.”

"Very preceptive Alicia. As a Vulcan certain precautions were taken to hide my features that would have shown me not to be human. I refer to my ears."

Alicia reached up her hand and ran her fingers over her husband’s altered ears. “It looks good but I much prefer the real you.” She smiled warmly before stepping back and turning away before covering her mouth and nose as she sneezed. “Excuse me!” She smiled. “I must have got some dust up my nose!”

"Most kind Alicia. I must admit I prefer my ears to these." Savar replied and looked at Alicia. "Quite alright Alicia. Yes. I'm sure that is it. Earth's air was heavily polluted during that time period."

Alicia nodded. “The first thing I’m doing when we get home is to get myself a shower! I want to wash away all the dust and grime from the 1600s, although I have to say it was nice to be out in the real air instead of being aboard a ship with recycled air. To feel the wind and enjoy being on terra-firma I miss that when we’re out in space.”

"That sounds like a most logical plan Alicia." Savar commented. " You are a romantic Alicia and I would not want it any other way and yes there is something to be said about breathing fresh air and the wind in your face." He paused. "I am not sure exactly what but yes there is something to be said" As he finished his eyes twinkled in jest as only Alicia would see.

Alicia smiled she loved to see and feel the emotion underneath Savar’s Vulcan demeanour, he was one of the most passionate, fun and loving men she had ever met and she wouldn’t change a thing about him. “I can’t wait until we get home so I can cuddle up with you all night long.”

He leaned towards her and spoke so only Alicia could hear. "I must confess. I too like it when we ahem cuddle. It makes the night much more pleasing."

“Indeed it does” Alicia smiled the biggest smile yet. “Roll on when we get home so we can do just that! I want to be wrapped up in your arms for the rest of tonight.”

"I believe that can be arranged Alicia perhaps even watch one of those old romantic vids you enjoy so much." Savar replied, "With popped corn."

Alicia grinned. “That sounds wonderful imzadi, I’ll look forward to it.”

Savar nodded "As am I my love. I find the evenings much more enjoyable when I am able to spend them with you. You have made me complete Alicia. I never knew true happiness until I met you." He squeezed her hand. "Thank you for making my life so much more pleasurable my love."

“No, thank you for making my life so much more than I ever dreamed” Alicia smiled as she looked into Savar’s eyes. “I would be completely lost without you now Savar.”

"You are much too kind Alicia. It was you who got me to relax and not be so formal at least around you. It was your love and your patience with me that allowed that to happen Alicia." Savar returned the compliment. Savar paused for a minute then continued in a low voice, his eyes on Alicia's. "Alicia, have you given any thought to having a family?"

Alicia’s eyes widened in surprise. “A family!” She stood shocked. “Sorry I ... didn’t expect to hear you suggest a family so soon.” She smiled. “I would very much like to have a family with you Savar.”

"I apologize Alicia. It was not my intent to surprise or shock you rather it was an honest inquiry to hear your thoughts on the possibility of starting a family." Savar replied stoically.

Alicia smiled the warmest smile yet. “I want to have a family Savar, I want to make you a father and I’m ready to be a mother whenever you want us to have a baby.”

"You will be a wonderful mother Alicia, I have no doubt of that." He squeezed her hand. It was a small token of the love he had for Alicia. "We will talk more of this when we are out of isolation and back in our quarters. Perhaps over a nice romantic dinner." He proposed.

Alicia nodded. "I would like that very much Savar, very much indeed."

"As would I Alicia. What is the Terran term? Oh, yes. It's a date."

"It is most definitely a date!" Alicia smiled the biggest, warmest and happiest smile yet.
