Captain Gary Taylor of the ISS Elysium stood with his arms folded over his chest as he smugly looked at the single occupant
in the torture chamber. A female but not just any female but Captain Phoenix Lalor of the USS Elysium. He had her abducted
from her quarters on the USS Elysium and replaced with her double in the wee hours of the morning.

Now she hung suspended, inside the chamber. He body racked with paralyzing jolts of electrical energy. Her body shook and
trembled under the jolts. "Captain Phoenix Lalor, I can't tell you how delighted I am to meet you face to face. He said mockingly
to the captive. Phoenix was drenched in sweat. Her head hung and her hair fell across her eyes. "You are my prisoner Captain and soon so will your ship." He taunted.

Phoenix glared at him, considered cursing but settled for "Oh yes I am so sure that will happen." Her tone was sarcastic.

He chuckled at her defiance as she hung there. He had stopped the jolts for a few minutes so he could talk to her, give her a breather before the torture started again. "Indeed it will Captain or can I call you Phoenix? Your double even now sits in the command chair of your ship. Your officers doing her bidding.

"Oh? And how long will that last I wonder?" She gasped out. " She will make a mistake you know" She was struggling to stop herself from screaming by reciting prayers in her head.

"Oh, I'm sure she will but you see, she doesn't need to play you for long. Just long enough to deliver my message to your crew. By the way are you comfortable?" He chuckled again.

"Go screw a targ" Phoenix snapped at him. "I've had worse"

He slapped his knee. "I do admire your bravado Captain and I am delighted to hear you've had worse. That means you won't mid with what is coming next." He nodded at an officer who tapped a button an instantly Phoenix's arms and legs were pulled wide. "That is better. Don't you agree Captain?"

"You need lessons in torture" She replied coldly. "Romulans do worse and have done worse to me. Come back after you have learned from them."

His eyes narrowed and anger appeared on his face but quickly passed. "We'll see how witty you are in a few more hours Captain. In fact I have something special in store for your crew. You however are going to remain my prisoner. Hanging inside that chamber."

"Its something to do" she snapped back. "Guess you don't want me going up against my mirror huh? What scared she will loose?"

"Quite right. I do not for I know she would lose. You are tough, resilient She is soft. used to the life as a royal. No, no confrontations between the
two of you. In fact your conversations are going to be fairly limited to me or perhaps my executive officer. You look like you need a drink. He nodded again and Phoenix was sprayed with water. soaking her clothes and skin. Another nod and a jolt arced through her as she hung in suspension. "Now you were saying. It's something to do. Still feel that way?"

"Amin feuya ten' lle! Utinu en lokirim! Antolle ulua sulrim! Llie n'vanima ar' lle atara lanneina" the insults in Erisian rolled from her. And she did not care if he did not understand her. It felt good to curse in her native tongue.

"I don't know what you said Captain and I'm sure I don't want to know. but by sound of it, it doesn't sound good." He looked at her, hanging there, helpless but defiant. She was impressive in her resistance. His officers could learn a lot from her but not now. Now he wanted information and her broken. "Tell me have your muscles started to cramp from their stretched position?"

"I am Ithil'quessir, not Edan. You mistake what this does" She replied.

"Really?" He mocked. "Now I am intrigued. What does it do Captain?"

The eyes she raised to his were almost white in their intensity. It showed the rage she was unleashing. "It makes me stronger. There is another difference between the pampered princess and myself. I won't break. I may bend and you can torture my body, and do your worse, which is not the worst after all, and I will come out of this stronger than before."

His blazed with a cold fury. Here was this Federation captain his prisoner. She hung helpless inside the torture chamber and she was trying to act like she was in control. He would teach her! He would show her who was in charge.

Her gaze held his, and she showed no signs of backing down. Her lips curved into a smirk. "Good Luck Gary." She said in an almost sing song voice. "you are so going to need it."

"Funny, from my perspective. It is you Phoenix who needs luck." He snapped at her.

Her smirk became a grin. "Ah the delusions of a Edan" she taunted him and kept her eyes on his.

He held her gaze. He was not intimated by this, this woman! He would break her. "You know Phoenix. I definitely think you are the one suffering delusions. Have you fully taken stock of your situation?"

"Have you?" She replied. "You underestimate me and you underestimate my crew. Good luck, you will need it"

He shook his head, "Your helpless. Hanging suspended and your telling me I've underestimated you? Do you have superpowers I am unaware of ?"

"Oh you are aware of them, Captain. I am sure you will remember soon enough"

He shook his head, "Your bravado is amazing. Even if your escape artist traits are lacking."

"its not Bravado. It is truth." She replied with total conviction.

"What is truth? Is truth a changing law? You are my prisoner, my captive." Captain Taylor remarked coldly.

"Am I? Or are you mine, after all you seem to be spending a lot of time trying to convince me, or yourself, of that."
