Arri and Josephine were looking around the ship, marveling at the opulence her double lived in when someone who looked like Vanessa entered the room. "Lady Viceroy."
Josie stood impassively and watched Vanessa carefully.
Arri turned and looked at Vanessa. "What is it Vanessa? This better be important."
"It is my Viceroy. As you expected. There Terrans are dutiful with their plots and schemes. You may find a means to use this to your advantage.
"I see... Continue."
"It seems the Captain's Woman gets around.. The guards whisper and whisper about her.... indiscretions. She's been known to attend secret meetings, and she's quite friendly with a lot of people."
"That tells me nothing Vanessa. If you do not start proving your worth to me. I'll have you thrown to Taylor's dogs."
"Let me tell you the next part, my Viceroy. She was found tied up in the conference room, in quite a state of disarray."
Arri pondered this. "Interesting, my subject."
"Yes, now you see. I'm sure the Captain's Woman has become a person of great interest to you now. This information will be valuable to you. My pay please?" Arrianna nodded. "Yes, and it is very well earned." Arri pushed a button on her throne MU Vanessa was suddenly beamed to a secret brig on the vessel.
Josie raised an eyebrow. "Ok... you beamed her out why?"
"This is interesting, and I couldn't let her stay in play. These barbarians are creatures of treachery. That being said, we need to know more about the Captain's woman here. Especially her indiscretions. What do you think?" Arri noted.
"Agreed. And we need to know if we have that person's mirror on our Elysium and if we can use them to get to Taylor." Josie said softly.
"I asked my cousin Vanessa to take an assignment here to fill a void in the Diplomatic Department. She's the former Ambassador from Alindar to Earth. And that is a brilliant idea, Josie. We can replace other crewmembers and increase our chance of success." Arrianna smiled. Her love was very impressive.
"How do we find her? Our version of Vanessa?"
"She's not here on the ship, I would have felt her presence. That leaves the station and our vessel. The thing is, we can go anywhere we desire. We simply have to make sure our own people don't kill us first. Then there's the snoops. The Betazoid Inquisitors here do not mind their own business. We may have to remove them from play too." Arrianna mentioned. "So, do we contact Vanessa?"
Josie paused and then said "Lets go to the ops area. I need to look at something."
"This way. Fortunately, we can now access this vessel without Vanessa betraying us." Arri noted as she brought her to the cockpit. She sat in a seat. "Ascendants, Tygerian Leather."
"Hmm?" Josie asked as she went to a console.
"It's leather made from the hide of a sentient lizard on Tygos. The Varan Trade Consortium, the main group that trades for Tygerians, tried to make trade products out of Alindari during the great exile, and even as a fleet of exiles, we showed them the err of their ways. Their technology was inferior to ours and we disabled their entire fleet easily." Arri mentioned.
"Ah well they learned their lesson." Josie brought up the scanners. "First lets see who we can see here." She pushed her hair back from her face as she did so, absently.
Arri took a console. "I'm going to look up the ISS Elysium's Slaver's record." She began typing. "She's not here. That means she's hiding on the Elysium." Arri noted. "How does one hide from internal sensors on a starship."
"One hides in the blackspots." Josie said pulling up the USS Elysium on her console. "Between the nacelles."
Arri nodded. "We can beam nearby and enter through the access hatch."
"We will need to change clothes" Josie said with a smile.
Arri nodded. "Indeed. Perhaps something familiar?" Arri accessed the Ely's uniform database and produced two science division uniforms with rank pins.
