Mission: MISSION 0 - History Speaks
Location: Lia & Gary's Quarters on Pacifica
Timeline: Current
876 words - 1.8 OF Standard Post Measure

Gary sat in his and Lia's quarters and stared vacantly out the window, Gallia was gone, Anje too even Tayalas the adorable little
blueberry he loved liked she was his own was gone. It had been another round of wholesale transfers. Sami had been transferred and
the counselor Mandy as well as Talia from medical. All gone and what made it worse was there were no goodbyes, no promises to
keep in touch via subspace. Just gone like blowing out a candle and it hurt. it hurt deeply and painfully. He was trying to make sense
of it and couldn't. How do you make sense out of nonsensical situation? It was impossible. So he sat and her remembered the good
times. The dinners with Gabby and Tayalas and how Tayalas had captured his heart from the moment she sat on his lap when he had
been dressed as Santa and and she called him "Sana!" The name stuck and he loved hearing her call him Sana. Then there was the
swimming lesson where she took to swimming like a duck to water. Speaking of ducks, Gary smiled as he pictured Tayalas in her little
duck hat and later the hat he had gotten her with holes cut out so her antenna would stick through. he smiled as he remembered feeding
the ducks with Tayalas along with riding the merry go round and getting ice cream. Such wonderful, happy memories and there would be
no more.

Tayalas had even worked her magic on Lia when Lia had given her a kimono. Lia had been a little reserved but Tayalas had won her over
by asking for huggies. And who could ever forget hearing her sing the baby duck song? It was a moment to remember as were her favorite
foods chicky nuggies, maccy cheese and choccy chip cookies. Along with choccy milk. She was a joy as a child, always happy, always with a
smile and when she said "lub oo" to him the first time he melted and the rest was history. That was do to Gallia and the love she showered
Tayalas with. Gallia doted on her. Teaching her right from wrong in a wonderful, loving manner. Tayalas was lucky to have Gallia as a mother
and Gallia was just as lucky to have Tayalas as her daughter. It was a match made in heaven. The ship was going to miss Gallia's expertise as
Chief Operations Officer along with her lilting Scottish accent.

He leaned back on the couch, closed his eyes. It felt like a part of him had been cut out. The sense of loss was so encompassing, so total. Ange or "Little Wolf" was gone as well. He missed her friendship and support. Always ready to jump in and do whatever needed to be done no matter what the situation. Never afraid to get her hands dirty. Friends didn't come any better or more loyal than Anje Brett. The three of them Gallia, Anje and
Tayalas were like family, no he corrected himself they were family as was Gallia's other half Kara Hoffman former Chief Engineer who had taken a leave of absence to deal with some personal matters. He sighed again he had so wanted them all there for his and Lia's marriage. Tayalas was going to be the flower girl. Now that idea was gone, out the window.

He got up and walked to the window and looked out at the tranquil sea. If only his thoughts were as tranquil. He feared however it would be a long time before they were. He was reminded he and Lia still needed to talking about kids of all things. Standing at the window he thought of a song as music helped in moments like this. "Computer , play I will Remember You by Sarah McLachlan."

A moment later the first notes of the deeply moving song filled the suite.

I will remember you, will you remember me?
Don't let your life pass you by,
Weep not for the memories
Remember the good times that we had?
I let them slip away from us when things got bad.
How clearly I first saw you smilin' in the sun
Want to feel your warmth upon me
I want to be the one

I will remember you, will you remember me?
Don't let your life pass you by
Weep not for the memories

I'm so tired but I can't sleep
Standin' on the edge of something much to deep
It's funny how we feel so much but we cannot say a word
We are screaming inside, but we can't be heard

I will remember you, will you remember me?
Don't let your life pass you by
Weep not for the memories

I'm so afraid to love you
But more afraid to lose
Clinging to a past that doesn't let me choose
Once there was a darkness
Deep and endless night
You gave me everything you had, oh you gave me life

I will remember you, will you remember me?
Don't let your life pass you by
Weep not for the memories

I will remember you, will you remember me?
Don't let your life pass you by
Weep not for the memories
Weep not for the memories
