Mission: MISSION 0 - History Speaks
Location: Marine Locker Room/Pacifica
930 words - 1.9 OF Standard Post Measure

Jessica entered the Marine's Locker room looking for a certain Capellan and began to sneak up slowly behind the open locker door. Just waiting for him to notice.

Man'darr was busy inventorying his gear. It was something he had always hated but Major Azhul seemed a bit more on edge since everything that went down with the Mirror Universe and he wanted to make sure things were organized with the detachment, finishing with himself. Until they got a new XO, he was the acting XO which he also hated as it meant more desk work. I should have stayed enlisted, he thought to himself as he finished up his checklist.

Jess spoke when the door closed. "Hey there. Holding out, Jarhead?"

Man'darr jumped, hearing the surprising yet familiar voice. Closing the door, he smiled at the sight of Commander Vaii standing there. "Geez, never sneak up on a Capellan. Just been kept busy helping to keep the detachment running. What have you been doing?"

Jess smirked. "I bet it makes you want to be enlisted again." She noted. "Got any spare time, I'm about to go planetside on shore leave. But it would just be me and some scuba gear."

"Well, I just finished inventorying my gear so yeah, I'm available to join you," he answered, grinning. "Have you been to Pacifica before?"

"Yeah... From orbit or under the oceans. I just have to do things or I'd get bored just sitting around." Jess noted. "I'm a flygirl. My idea of a good time is spacewalking and flying things, and other things. But maybe it's time to do... beach things?"

"As long as it doesn't involve spacewalking, I'm in," Man'darr agreed. "Let me change and I'll meet you in the transporter room in a few minutes."

"Roger that, Jarhead." Jessica noted as she returned to her quarters.

*Transporter Room*

Jessica waited in the transporter room with her duffel, and wearing tight jeans and a tank-top with a bomber jacket. complete with the wings on the jacket. She also had a pair of aviator sunglasses on.

Man'darr strolled into the transporter room with a duffel bag in one hand while sporting a tank top and black shorts. He slowed his walk to the transporter pad taking in Jessica and her outfit. "You're looking quite stunning," he complimented with a grin.

"You look nice too, jarhead, that being said you've also earned a privilege most men would die for. The pleasure of my company on shore leave. Now let's go and make shore leave worth it. I believe, after the pure hell we've faced together, we've earned some form of R and R." Jess noted as she shouldered her duffel and stepped onto the transporter pad.

Man'darr chuckled as he stepped onto the transporter pad. A moment later, the two dematerialized on the surface of Pacifica. "Where are we going diving at?" he asked, looking around in an attempt to get his bearings. There was a hotel and restaurant nearby as well as a beach and boat launch not much father away.

"There's a group of reefs offshore near a small beachside resort I have reservations at a place called Atlantica. Plus we can get to know each other a little bit more." Jess mentioned.

Man'darr smiled and gestured with an open hand. "That sounds perfect. Lead the way."

*Atlantica Reefs, Pacifica*

Jess swam across the reefs. "Careful, Jarhead. You don't want to touch them." They were swimming through the reefs Every one of them beautiful. She turned towards him.

"Did I ever thank you for saving my life there? I don't care if I die for the Federation, but I will not be kicked like a dog." Jessica mentioned. "They say Capellans are good warriors. What do you think of me?" Jess noted. "I'm not that special. I just do my duty. Yeah, they might call me a hero for what happened back there."

Man'darr raised an eyebrow at Jess as he listened to her. "You were a very fine warrior," he commented with a grin. "You led and fought well, keeping others alive in the process. Of course, I'm not following you on anymore spacewalks of course." He shuddered at the idea of spacewalks with nothing under your feet to keep you from floating away into eternity only to end up splattered on the hull of some stupid ferengi freighter.

"Besides," he continued, wrapping her into his arms in the water. "You're pretty special to me."

Jessica embraced him. "Same...." She just smiled at him.

"Hmmm, we should probably continue this back at the resort," Man'darr suggested as the floated above the reef. "Unless you want to continue exploring."

"Isn't this beautiful Man'darr? Us, and all this exotic beauty around us." She kissed her hand through her helmet and placed her fingers on his helmet.

Looking back at her, Man'darr admired the woman's beauty and admitted to himself that the underwater seas of Pacifica were indeed more beautiful than the surface was. "It is beautiful but not nearly as beautiful as you," he complimented, grinning.

Jessica smiled. "Let's take our time to get to know each other. Sides, we only do things when we're ready, Jarhead. That's just who we are."

"Ah, have me figured out then?" he teased back at her, grinning.

"Why didn't I come down to Marine County more often?" Jess smiled.

"Because we scare you," Man'darr continued to tease with a shrug.

"Few things scare me, Jarhead." Jess noted. "One of them is being a slave."

"I won't let that happen," he said sincerely.
