510 words - 1 OF Standard Post Measure

Sitting his Engineering Lab, he was about to put an idea that came up from a conversation his daughter was having with Lt. Nevada McKay. That was the idea of placing Federation nanites inside a communication badge. All of a sudden, he received a visitor. Turning around, he sees Captain Addison Blaire, the Captain of the USS Relativity from the future.

"Captain Blaire," Victor says smiling, "How may I help you?"

"Tying up loose ends," Addison replies. "What you are doing is coming from a direct result of a conversation you had with your daughter which came from a direct result of your daughter encountering an Assassin from the future. What you are doing will eventually be done but doing it now will advance the Federation."

Victor was about to debate her but decided it was not a great idea. "So I should abandon this project?"

"Yes Victor," Addison said giving him her approval.

"Then that will explain what she and I will find out soon what she did," Victor deducted. "So you might tell me what happened." After a long explanation what happen, Victor asked, "So it looks like you will be back to gather anything that might show up."

"Yes," Addison answered. "Your daughter is very gifted because you allowed her to grow and make mistakes. She has an iconic memory but there will be times she might forget because one as gifted as Laura can chose to forget."

"That she does," Victor says nodding yes. "Anything else I should know?"

"She will when she becomes a teenager will have a rebellious phase," Addison answers again. "She will grow out of it." Addison's timer goes off on her communication badge. "Remember. I was never here."

"You were never here," Victor replied before she teleported away. Now Victor realizes he has knowledge that could be dangerous in the wrong hands. He nods to himself before he decided to look around the lab for another project to do. Exhaling a bit, he resorted to fixing a replicator that was in the lab.

Later, Victor went by to see his son Vick in day care. When Vick saw his father, he was so excited to see him. "How is your day going Vick?, " he said to his son.

Vick sighed. "It was fun but too many nap times. I want to be like Lara and read books."

"How well can you read?" Victor asks.

"I read Moby Dick," Vick says, "I understand some of it."

"Do you remember how it started?" Victor asks.

"Call me Ishmael," Vick replies.

"I use to tell Lara," Victor says looking into his son's eyes, "Read a book two or three times but never in the same week, so you can understand it. Same goes with math. Do your homework two to three times."

Vick scratches his head. "Okay. I will try."

Victor gets paged on his communication badge. "Well son. Back to work."

"Okay Daddy," Vick says giving Victor a hug.

After Victor left, the daycare worker says, "Nap time." Vick facepalms himself. "Not again."
