Lucianna looked over her new colony, it was developing and thriving quickly. Something that wouldn't have happened in the Mirror. Was it the strange and twisted sense of humor that fate happened to have that her people were trapped in a universe so cruel, transitioning to a new universe was the only way to be truly safe from the Terran Empire. Even now, they were building a small city of starship hulls.

"Matriarch." Ciyanna approached.

"Yes Ciyanna?" Lucianna mentioned.

Ciyanna looked at Lucianna. "What do we do? when the Federation learns of our existance?" Haley mentioned. "Technically Captain Lalor did violatate the prime directive."

"Realistically, we fought for Captain Lalor's crew. She was in our debt. We helped her, she helped us." Lucianna mentioned. "Sometimes it's enough to survive war, Ciyanna. That in and of itself is a victory."

"The young ones want to return to our universe and fight the Empire." Ciyanna noted.

"To what end, Ciyanna? So they can die in a vain crusade? The Terran Empire will fall, and we do not even have to lift a finger." Lucianna mentioned. "There's no Betazoids left there to fight for. What's left are bred abominations of Terran genetics."

Koran walked up to Lucianna and Ciyanna. "My lady. Ambassadors from Betazed and the Federation have arrived."

"They know of us?" Ciyanna mentioned. "Send them away, Koran. When we want diplomacy with the Federation, we'll request ambassadors."

"Calm yourself Ciyanna." Lucianna mentioned. " It's always important to be good neighbors. Extend our hospitality to them, Koran." Lucianna began to walk with Ciyanna."

"They bring one of their Betazoids? We are not them. " Ciyanna mentioned.

Lucianna kept pace with Ciyanna. "I do not understand why you do not approve of the Federation."

"Look at the Star Charts. The Federation is a massive consuming behemoth. It may not be the Terran Empire, but an empire is an empire. I am natually suspicious of people who design starships for exploration and diplomacy, but arm them like warships." Ciyanna stated. "If you desire peace, it is not achieved through arms."

"They might agree with you there, Ciyanna." Lucianna stated.

"And I might concur, if I didn't think pacifism was atrophy and laziness. Sheep are sheep, my Matriarch, and wolves are wolves." Ciyanna mentioned.

Lucianna enjoyed her debates with Ciyanna. "And how does the sheep live with the wolves around?"

"Pacifism is death, my matriarch." Ciyanna concluded. "There is no way for anyone to achieve total pacifism. You might as well stop eating, drinking, or even breathing. Believing the lack of your existance as somehow removed the possibility of evil."

Lucianna chuckled. "And this is why I've placed people who disagree with me on the Council. I need as many people as possible to keep me honest and make me see both sides of the issue, even the third or the fourth side."

"You can't please everyone." Ciyanna laughed a bit.

"Indeed, but at the end of the day, I can open a jar of this Saurian Brandy this universe is famous for, and with the knowledge that I have not pissed anyone off enough to declare war. Besides, Friends could help us, Ciyanna." Lucianna gestured her advisor towards the bar.

"Getting me drunk so I will start agreeing with you, mi'lady?" Ciyanna noted.

"Mmm no.... It's just a drink between friends." Lucianna chuckled.

"Treacherous old witch." Ciyanna concluded as they entered a tavern on their colony.
