Ensign Luen walked into the mess hall of the Elysium, it was bustling with life as crewmembers got their lunch and socialised with each other. Ethal was not usually very fond of loud buisy places as she prefered areas more private or at least more quiet. She walked over to the food replicator and got herself some lunch and sat by herself in the far corner of the room. Ethal found it rather interesting that most of the people in the room regardless of the fact they worked on the same ship or even on the same or similar posts, she would never get to know. But instead of that thought making her feel isolated, she felt a strange sence of comfort.

it had been a few days since ethal had joined the crew of the Elysium, she had worked hard to get used to her new post as one of the ships science officer. Since her induction from some of her fellow officers she had been excited to work with them and their projects but also had starting to come up with her own project to work on.

She wanted to work on some new planetary scanning equipment that could either be installed on ships and into probes if necessary. Ethal had theorised that a program could be used to quickly find problems within a planets makeup to spot problems that may happen in future that may not be as obvious to the current planetary scanners.

As Ethal thought more and more of her scanner ideas she could not help getting out a data pad out of her lab coat pocket and continuing on her calculations and programming notes. She was getting sucked back into her work and time was escaping her yet again.

Ethal was drawn out of her work back into the real world by a nagging feeling in her stomach which she quickly realised was hunger, as she looked down from her pad at her plate and realised that she had barely touched it and that explained her bodys protest to her working.

Ethal had a little chuckle with herself at the situation as this was not the first time this had happened to her and it certainly wasn't going to be the last either. Ethal certainly had two different modes: Work mode, then everything else mode. It was obvious on which one was more dominant of the two.

She finished up with her meal quickly so that she could go back to work but this time back in the comfort of the labs rather than the mess hall. As she got up to put her empty dishes back into the replicator she realised the mess hall was more empty than before and it made her ponder how long she was really there for. She knew she wasnt late for anything though as her com badge had not gone off, neither did her personal alarm.

Since a bad day for her being late as a cadet, Ethal always kept alarms on for whenever she was ment to be doing her duties just as a precaution as she far too easily could be in her own little world working and she never wanted to be late again to anything. While at the replicator she grabbed herself a coffee, more specifically a Raktajino, to go with her on her way back to her natural habitat to continue on with her work.
