Andy went through another box, another crate, and then another locker. Weapons had been calibrated, set aside, and tested. Surprisingly, there were a need to order some personal hand phasers. It was surprising, but not worrying. It was a quick order to the chief.

"How about dinner tonight Ensign." Ensign Ashley parker asked as she closed up the back of another rifle.

Andy looked at her, then turned back to his rifle "I think I am going to try and get these finished, then I want to take some of these crates to the holodeck, make sure the calibration is on par."

"Would you like some help?" Ashley inquired, as she placed the rifle in the crate.

Andy paused and looked to her, "I... would love some."

A smile crossed Ashleys lips. "Most of it is done, why don't we go now?" She looked at the crates.

Looking at the room, she was right, there was only a few crates left. "Very well Ensign. Choose your crate I choose mine."

Ashley looked at the crates to choose from, and chose hers. It was one of the common rifles, which could be set to a pulse setting or a straight beam. "Got it."

Andy looked around, and decided on another of the more common types of rifles as well. One that didn't necessarily used on all types of missions.

Ashley smiled as the two exited the armoury and headed towards the holodeck.

Andy placed the last rifle down. All the weapons had been tested, each passed as they figured it would. He turned, and seen Ashley just standing there with a rifle.

"Something wrong Ensign." Andy inquired as he watched her.

Ashley paused a moment. "One shot whoever gets closest. If I win, we have dinner, my quarters tomorrow night. If you win. I will take your shift tomorrow in the day."

~Well I could do with the day off.~ He thought to myself.

Just then a voice popped into his head... ~Idiot... she likes you.~

Andy just stuttered slightly... "I.. I... Alright. Deal."

Ashley looked at her rifle. "Computer target 200 yards." She set the setting to pulse and fired.

Andy looked down to the target, and brought up his own, then raised his own rifle as he aimed down the sight. Firing he dropped the rifle and looked. "Computer show results."

The targets appeared before them. It was close, but Andys was just slightly closer to the middle, while Ashleys was slightly to the left.

Ashley paused, and placed the rifles back into the crates. "Well, I guess Im working tomorrow instead of having my day off." She genuinely seemed upset.

"Well it does give me time to make dinner for us." Andy replied as he placed his own back in the crate.

Ashley paused a moment. "What... the deal was..."

"Look, I am going to be honest. I like you. Why wouldn't I want to cook for you. If this is a 'date' I literally have no idea what im doing." He admitted. Truth be told, he had thought about her increasingly as they got close, they were always on the same shift, save one day a week. They pretty much matched shot for shot with the same accuracy.

Ashley smiled, "First timer eh?"

"In all aspects."

Pausing. "Well..." She replied as she walked up to him, and planted her lips on his. Slowly releasing.

"Uh... Uhm... Well... I guess that takes care of that one." Andy replied as his face turned a bright greenish.

"Ensigns Parker and Carey, we just received an order from the chief, there is an order for a list of weapons for an upcoming away mission that needs to be set up and ready to go." Came over their badge. "Ensign Carey, you are also required to be at the away team briefing."

Looking at each other they smiled, "I guess this day just gets better." Andy replied "Ive got to get going apparently."

Turning to leave he thought for a moment. Then turned. "What the hell." He planted his lips on hers this time, which was met with reciprocation. "Ill see you after the briefing."

"Yeah." Ashley replied as she smiled and watched him leave. Looking back to the crates she paused a moment. "He likes you to eh." She stated to herself as she sat down. She liked him. Glad that even though he won, they would still have dinner. The kiss was unexpected. Half surprised she kissed him as much as he was. Getting up she brushed herself off, grabbed both crates and headed off to the armoury once again
