Lia sat on the bed and looked around, her part of the rescue was over for now. Naxea and her Marines now had their part to play, somewhere deep within her Lia hoped everything would proceed as it should. With Gary on the planet surface with Naxea's Marines, Lia knew it would seem like a lift time as the time dragged past. But the job needed doing, and she knew he'd come back. She just felt it, she didn't know how but she knew it.

Slow standing, Lia began undressing and headed for the sonic shower. She felt dirty and sticky after wearing the EVA suit, she never did like the bloody things. As she bathed, she thought about the Ojnas pilot. She had often watched the fighters on the view screen and marveled at their antics, now she had been sat next to one as they performed those same manoeuvres. It had been a real eye opener, and one the Ojnas had performed exactly and with pin point accuracy. Lia knew shuttles just weren't supposed to fly in that way, yet in the hands of Consul Imik their shuttle had flown just like a little fat fighter. Returning to the bed, she sat back down and thought just how hard she had found it to focus while the ship barrel rolled and jinked about. And those fighter jocks did that for a living, Lia had a new found respect for them now.

She dressed in a clean uniform, and addressed her hair into some kind of style. Sprayed a light mist of perfume and headed for the door, but she couldn't get her mind cleared of the thoughts she was having. So turning she went and sat down on one of the chairs, but she couldn't get comfortable. That made her head for her Kotatsu, a small heated table with a futon attached. Sitting crossed legged she now thought about all she had been through, and all the experiences she had since joining the Elysium. Hell she had even managed to get married, that had even surprised her. But never had she thought she would ever sit and fly with a fighter pilot, but she had. The only fly in the ointment had been that stupid HALO jump, why had the others settled on that?

Uncrossing her legs, she let them drop into the small hole under the Kotatsu. Gary wasn't a fan of the Kotatsu, he was slightly to large for it and found it uncomfortable to sit at. Lia had tried to show him how to sit, but he didn't seem to get it. So they kept the western chairs just for him and his guests, Lia missed all the Japanese furniture she had in her old cabin but she was married now and living for two not one. Her mind returned to the Ojnas pilot, the way she moved and held herself. Like a Cobra about to strike, Imik seemed to be constantly alert and ready for action.

Were all her race like that? Lia had to admit she hadn't noticed that before in Imik, maybe it was because she was in action. Lia and Imik had only interacted socially before now, and then Imik had given off a calm and almost spiritual countenance. But in that cockpit, she displayed a side of her Lia had never seen. A ruthlessness and pure thought process designed to defeat an enemy, to win at any cost with as little care towards those who fought against the Ojnas. In a way, Lia was glad the Federation never fought against the Ojnas, they reminded her of the Borg only these were free thinking drones trained to win. A bleeping sound brought her back to reality, it was a call from the bridge. They wanted her up there, standing up and putting her boots on she left the cabin. As she entered the bridge she noticed Imik standing next to Gary, she also noticed the Ojnas eye's never left the display's once. That girl was mentally fighting along side the Marines, even now back on the Ely the Ojnas would sooner be down with the Marines.

Taking her station she ran some checks, then began scanning the enemy fleet. Just how long they would have to wait for the go signal wasn't known, but they were ready. And if the Ojnas was flying the Ely, then their opponents didn't stand a chance.
