Toran has more or less known that what he was doing was a fools undertaking. The Klingon's even as allies where often less then helpful.
He had called the local Klingon commander, the local Klingon Governmental office and the First City itself. They where quick to offer there wishes for safety and for quick rescue.

He had received a offer of the long range subspace scans of the boarder region. But all that would show was the warp trails of all non-cloaked ships on the Klingon Side of the boarder. So mostly useless with the exception of maybe showing if any ships had crossed the boarder un-cloaked.

Then he had spent some time speaking family members and contacts in the empire. Finally hitting the console to end the discussion he had been having. Instead opening the com and selecting Captain Lolor, deciding to make a recording and not actively call her, she was most likely busy at the moment.

"Captain, I think we always knew that asking the Empire would be a token effort at best. All I could get out of them is a promises to send long range scans from the Empires side of the boarder. Though they make it clear that would take a while. And if we really wanted to take them up on the offer, two ore freighters that are empty in the area. Each one is able to carry around sixty passengers if we needed extra on hand ships for a Evacuation... A response at your soonest convenience is fine, I suspect your rather occupied."

"I am but I agree that extra ships would be useful. If you could request them please, and send to the Federation for a number of ships to do the same it would be greatly appreciated. I have a gut feeling that we may have to evac the planet eventually." Phoenix replied via PADD minutes later

"Agreed, I'll also see if there are any third party Federation ships in the area, the Vulcan ships are rather reliable in such instances, Toran out." He ended his message and sat back down at his deck. First looking over the third party ships in the area. Then the Federation ships. He had always found that the Federation responded better if you asked for ships by name.

As for the actual ships. A Tellarite freighter was on its way through that part of space in a day or so. And there was a old Miranda class in the area on courier duty. Other then that it would be up to Star Fleet Command, he didn't of coarse know what ships where heading where at any given time. This was all technically diplomatic work, but it was the kind of loathed to some extent. Not because it was unimportant, but because it shouldn't take as much diplomacy as it did.

"Times like this shouldn't need diplomats to ask for help." He rubbed the side of his face the plasma scar starting to move well past is normal dull pain. But he could have that looked at later. For now he had more communications to send out.
