It had been several years since he was last on Earth, he spent a few days at his family’s ancestral estate in Renfrewshire Scotland, before returning to stabase ! to report to his ship, this assignment was major, to his pride, and Ego having spent the last five years assistant Chief engineer to go back a run-of- the mill engineering officer, with no explanation, he would just have to redouble his efforts. He arrived in full dress uniform including his kilt and sporran which bor his family coat of arms, he made his way across the Umbilical walkway to one the ship’s airlocks as he stepped on the deck of the ship he paused for moment “Computer, present location of Capn’ Carrington.”

The Ship's AI replied "Captain Carrington is in the ready room, Deck 1."

Victor was in Ready Room Deck 1 waiting for the new officer with Captain Carrington and Commander Lovejoy. "Commander Lovejoy, we have never met before today. Welcome back to the Elysium. Captain, we have not met in this reality before but I have met you in the reality I came from. I hope both of you were briefed on my background?"

Lovejoy nodded to Victor. "Thank you Lieutenant. It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance and to be on this ship."

Edward quickly made his way to a tubro lift the doors made no familiar pneumatic his as they opened and closed, “Bridge.” Edward said in his accent as the computer chirped in response and lift began to moved he tooment to ensure uniform , klit, and sporran wer strength and presentable, the lift the door hissed open and made his over to ready room door and press the crime awaiting a response.

"You may enter," Victor replied since he was the Chief of the new officer.

As stepped through, door, stop about peace in front of the captain's desk, "Lieutenant JG Edward Renfrew reporting fur duty.

Yasmine stood as the officer entered. Being seated while three males stood made her uncomfortable.

"Ah Scottish," Victor smiled, "I too have a couple of kilts. My name is Lt. Victor Barclay de Tolly. My ancestors came from Aberdeen as well as Latvia. Lt. Junior Grade Edward Renfrew, this is Captain Yasmine Carrington and this is Commander Garrett Lovejoy. Please have a seat right here."

"Capn',commander." Renfrew said with a nod as took his seat and turned to victor, "Ahh the granite city 'n' Latvia ye say, quite a combination mah ancestors are from Renfrewshire, 'n' Wales.

Yasmine merely nodded and let the others lead. She wanted to see what happened.

"If my memory serves me correctly," Victor says rubbing his chin, "William Wallace, also know as Braveheart was from where you are from. But we can talk about that later. The Captain and First Officer I predict has a big schedule in front of them as do I."

"I'm sure ye do, all of ye, speaking schedules, do have for one for me, I'm ever tae get started," Edward replied as looked from one officer to the others.

"Besides Structural Engineerung, what is your specialty," Victor asks, "I have a feeling from what I read you were a ringer in every place you have been. You have the potential to be known as one of the greats like Montgomery Scott, Geordi LaForge, Leah Brahms or Burgoyne 172. I have a feeling you can improve on Leah Brahms or Tom Paris Warp Drive enhancements."

" I hold a double master's in warp theory, and starship design from the academy, I also a skilled Matter/Energy Systems Specialist, as well an impulse, and warp drive technician, Plus what learned myself over the years.

"We have a QSD Lieutenant. Have you been trained in it?" Carrington asked calmly.

Aye, I have been trained on QSD, alas it was in simulations, I look forward tae learning oan th' real thing.

Garrett did what he did best. He stood there and observed the new officer, making mental notes about him. When he left here he would run a high level security check on him for any red flags that Captain Carrington would want to know about.

"I will have you directly report to Kara," Victor says, "You can learn a lot from Kara. She has an all work personality on the job as I have observed which is what I want. We can be friends when we are not on duty but on duty, we are Starfleet Officers. In High School my rugby coach says what happens on the rugby field, stays on the rugby field. Another words if I correct an Engineer, he, she or hir, the Engineer should not hold a grudge. Just like if Captain Carrington or Commander Lovejoy tells me something I have done wrong or disagree with what they said, they are doing it to make this ship a better ship. Like Captain Calhoun says, right or wrong, he is still the Captain. I do like for you to advise me but if I see for some reason it will not work, I will make the final word in my Department as the Captain makes the final word on the ship."

Yasmine nodded. "Very well Lieutenant, I wish you luck here and expect great things from you."

"I wullnae disappoint ya capn' The Scotsman replied with a nod

“Captain and Commander,” Victor asks, “The Engineers and I welcome you. Is there anything we need to discuss before we are dismissed?”

Carrington Shook her head. "No you are both dismissed. Good day to you both."

"Good day to you and Commander as well," Victor replied. "Edward, bring your luggage to the Quarters assigned to you, then come to the Engineering Office because I am calling a meeting of the Engineers. Welcome aboard. May God always steer your ship," Victor said as he recalled the family motto of the Renfrews."
