As Mattias continued to escort Kara closer to Malakai. Along the short walk, his mind began to replay flashes of memories from their shared past, beginning when he fierst laid eyes on the small infant girl, when his father rescued her from the Lady Lucky. He had fallen in love with her instantly, swearing to his parents that he would always protect her.

Then, as the memory flashes continued, the two children were always together, Mattias doing everything he could to help care for Kara. She had become the most important thing in his young life. As they grew older, their bond grew stronger. He had had to speak to a few boys that had seemed interested in her, making sure that they didn't do anything to hurt her.

On more than one occasion, he had had to deal with a boy who had done the wrong thing. Malakai, himself, had been a thorn in Mattias' side for the past few years. He had broken Kara's heart more than once, when he would suddenly change his mind and leave her. However, through all the pain, the two kept returning to each other.

Today, seeing just how happy they both seemed, Mattias felt relief for the first time. Malakai seemed to be finally stepping up and doing the right thing. Mattias hoped it would last this time.

If not, he would take care of the issue. Permanently.

Kara smiled at her brother as they arrived at Malakai’s side, giving Mattias a hug and a kiss on the cheek she then turned towards Malakai and Lily.

As Kara gave him a kiss, Mattias whispered into her ear. "I love you, Little Girl." He then moved off to the side, taking his place behind Kara, as she continued forward in her life's journey. A part of him knew that, while she would always love him, their relationship was now changed permanently. He kept a proud, loving smile on his face, though he wanted to weep for the new emptiness in his heart.

Kara didn’t need to see Mattias’ face to know he’d be smiling happily for her, but she certainly felt the sadness he was trying to keep hidden from her. She kept on smiling but would make sure they spoke when they had a chance. Right now her concentration was on her husband-to-be.”

Malakai stood beaming at Kara. She wasn't just beautiful even though that was certainly true but there was an inner beauty that radiated from her that she seemed to glow standing across from him. Again, he vowed to never disappoint her or hurt her. She was his wife, his responsibility and he would look after her. They had their share of arguments but they always returned to each other's side. They shared a connection that even he didn't understand at times. All he knew was he felt happy, at ease, totally in love with Kara

Lily took a breath "Well, shall we get started?" she asked almost casually.

"Please do" Kara smiled warmly.

"We are gathered here today, to celebrate the wedding of Malakai and Kara. Marriage is the promise between two people who love each other, who trust that love, who honor one another as individuals in that togetherness, and who wish to spend the rest of their lives together. It enables the two separate souls to share their desires, longings, dreams, and memories, their joys and sorrows, and to help each other through all uncertainties of life. A strong marriage also nurtures each of you as separate individuals and allows you to maintain your unique identity and grow in your own way through the years ahead. It is a safe haven for each of you to become your best self. You are adding to your life not only the affection of each other, but also the companionship and blessing of a deep trust. You are agreeing to share strength, responsibilities and love. It takes more than love to make this relationship work. It takes trust, to know in your hearts that you want only the best for each other. It takes dedication, to stay open to one another, to learn and grow, even when it is difficult to do so. And it takes faith, to go forward together without knowing what the future holds for you both." She smiled faintly. "Please join hands, look at one another now and remember this moment in time."

"Malakai, do you take Kara to be your wife? "

'I certainly do!" Malakai replied without hesitation.

"Kara, do you take Malakai to be your husband?"

Kara looked into Malakai's eyes smiling as she nodded. "I do!"

"Kara, please take Malakai’s hand and repeat after me.
'Malakai I take you as you are/ loving who you are / I promise from this day forward/ To be grateful for our love and our life/ To be generous with my time, my energy and my affection/ To be patient with you and with myself/ To fill our life with adventure and our home with laughter/ To inspire you to grow as an individual / To love you completely/ These things I pledge to you'"

Taking hold of Malakai's hand Kara looked into her true love's eyes.
"Malakai I take you as you are/ loving who you are / I promise from this day forward/ To be grateful for our love and our life/ To be generous with my time, my energy and my affection/ To be patient with you and with myself/ To fill our life with adventure and our home with laughter/ To inspire you to grow as an individual / To love you completely/ These things I pledge to you'"


"Malakai, please take Kara’s hand and repeat after me.'Kara I take you as you are,/ loving who you are/ I promise from this day forward/ To be grateful for our love and our life/ To be generous with my time, my energy and my affection/ To be patient with you and with myself/ To fill our life with adventure and our home with laughter/ To encourage you to grow as an individual / To love you completely/ These things I pledge to you'"

Malakai took Kara's hand and held it in his. His eyes only on her as he spoke.'Kara I take you as you are,/ loving who you are/ I promise from this day forward/ To be grateful for our love and our life/ To be generous with my time, my energy and my affection/ To be patient with you and with myself/ To fill our life with adventure and our home with laughter/ To encourage you to grow as an individual / To love you completely/ These things I pledge to you'"

"Do you have rings or are we skipping that part?" Lily asked with a smile.

“We have rings” Kara smiled as she held up a man’s ring she’d been keeping for some time in hopes of one day marrying Malakai.

"hand them over" Lily wiggled her hand at them both.

Kara grinned as she handed hers over to Lily, it wouldn’t be much longer now before she would be Mrs Starr.

Malakai opened his hand to reveal Kara's ring before handing over to Lily. Soon, so very soon they would be man and wife and the thought filled him with absolute joy.

"Your wedding ring is a symbol of your promise to one another. The ring, an unbroken, never ending circle, is a symbol of committed, unending love. Malakai, as you place this ring on Kara‘s finger, repeat these words after me:
This ring symbolizes my love for you/ and the commitments we made today"

Malakai gently held Kara's hand in his as he slid the ring onto her finger as he did he spoke, his voice steady despite the nerves he felt. "This ring symbolizes my love for you/ and the commitments we made today" His eyes seeing nothing else but Kara. She was his world.

"Kara, as you place this ring on Malakai‘s finger, repeat these words after me:
This ring symbolizes my love for you/ and the commitments we made today"

Taking the ring Kara gently slid it along Malakai’s finger. “This ring symbolizes my love for you/ and the commitments we made today" Her smile practically shone as she looked up into his eyes.

Lily smiled "Malakai and Kara, you have come here today of your own free will and in the presence of family and friends, have declared your love and commitment to each other. You have given and received a ring as a symbol of your promises. By the power of your love and commitment to each other, and by the power vested in me, I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride"

Malakai didn't needed any further encouragement. He wrapped his arms around Kara and held her gently in his embrace his eyes full of the love he felt for her. It was so overpowering he thought his chest might burst. "I love you Kara Starr." He whispered as he bent forward and kissed her deeply and passionately.

Kara returned Malakai’s kiss just as passionately before their lips finally parted. “I love you too Malakai Starr.”

Lily stepped away from them both and stepped up beside Matt. "Lets leave them to it." she whispered to him, nudging him towards the door.

It took Mattias a few beats for him to tear his eyes away from Kara. Then, nodding wordlessly, he turned, gently taking Phoenix's right hand into his left, holding her to him.

Kara saw Lily and Mattias leaving, she wanted to talk to Mattias but it could wait for now. She smiled as she looked into Malakai’s eyes. “Take me home?”

Malakai also saw Lily and Mattias leaving, *Talk about opposites* He thought to himself before he met Kara's gaze. "Music to my ears." He replied softly as he took his hand in hers and they ended to his now their quarters.
