Seated in his office rather his new office as chief diplomatic officer Gary thought on the circumstances revolving around the disappearance of Phoenix. Information surrounding her was non existent, There had been a complete and total security lockdown. Not even the Wolf Queen was able to get any information on Phoenix's disappearance which and of itself was strange. All anyone got were the same vague rumors that Phoenix had been arrested, charged with treason and spirited off to a top secret location to stand trial before being sent to the penal colony on New Zealand. All which was totally preposterous and made him come to the conclusion that this was an elaborate cover up. Unfortunately he had no proof just his gut instinct based on his years of experience as a member of the Queen's legendary Wolf Pack.

However now has chief diplomatic he had different avenues to explore and surprisingly more security clearances. Whether that got him closer to finding out the real story remained to be seen but he was going to pursue every scrap of information he could to see if he could uncover what had happened to his friend.

As he sat there formulating his plans a song popped into his head. A song he would sing to Catlin when they were apart and the time seemed to last forever, she only needed to persevere.

"Computer play Dream a Little Dream of Me by Mama Cass Elliott." An instant later the first strands of the song filled his office.

He had Lia to help him now both in being his wife and chief supporter. He thought of asking her to help him in his investigation but decided not to at least not yet. He didn't want to put her career in jeopardy. If the situation changed then he would but for now Lia did more good in her role as chief security officer of the Elysium. This was a lone ranger assignment. No sidekick, no safety net. It was his neck on the line as it should be. Phoenix was not only his friend but his Captain as well and it was his duty to find out the truth.
