Moments after the away teams had beamed in the main camp, their supplies were also sent down by the cargo transporters, into neat little piles strewn out all over the place. The engineers Gallia had brought down with her, Anya saw, were getting to work setting up the camp proper. The perimeter, however, that was security's concern.

"We can set up force field projectors all around, leaving just one or two gateways to control the flow", Anya said, looking at the two officers who had beamed down with them. "Where do you want them?"

Fernando was leaning on a crate as Anya made her suggestion. His head bobbed up and down in agreement. "An excellent idea. It will control the flow. They should be set up in a full circle, so no one can sneak in from the back." He pointed out.

"Very true. I've had enough surprises from that direction for a while", Anya smirked.

Fernando smiled in agreement at her comment, "Yes, you have." He agreed. It was after all how she got her nickname Toasty Buns.

Jaeih brought up an image on her PADD. "This will take a few hours. I will get a scanner set up at the entry points so we can make sure we are not letting in those with weapons."

"What would you have us do in the meantime, ma'am?" Anya asked the half-Romulan, a fact she was just a bit wary of. She knew it was probably nonsense, even unfair, but she couldn't help those deeply ingrained feelings.

Jaeih looked up. "Do as you said you would. Lets get this moving. I am sure there will be refugees coming in soon enough and we need to make sure we are ready for them."

Chrys nodded in agreement. "And there will be those who will be looking for the quick solution. We need to be on guard."

Fernando was already in motion moving two of the projectors into position, to set up their perimeter. "In addition there will e those who will try to capitalize on the fear others have. Make the Federation scapegoats."

"We can let the politicians worry about that one", Anya suggested, moving to help Fernando with the boxes. "Let's put those muscles to good use first, yes?"

"Absolutely yes Senorita." Fernando agreed as he and Anya began moving the boxes.

"You set up the shield barrier, I'll make the trench?" Anya suggested. "Wouldn't want people to run into the force field, would we?" She figured there had to be some kind of visible perimeter.

Fernando nodded then chuckled, "Alright though why dig a trench? Let them run into the field. It will teach them to be wary and not try to overrun the place."

"And here I thought I was mean", Anya shook her head. "You are positively vicious."

Fernando shook his head. "You misjudge me Toasty. I'm not vicious, just practical. We want an orderly crowd, not a mob."

"Which is why I think a visible barrier helps", Anya argued. "Everyone will know where to go, and we can channel them in as we can process them."

Fernando sighed, "So does a shock to the system." He countered. "That happens a few times they will be docile and we can channel them without worry."

"Why don't we just phaser the lot of them and collect them while they're stunned, then?" Anya wondered sarcastically.

Fernando sighed and shook his head, "I have no wish to argue with you Toasty. Dig your trench." He said as he went back to setting up the force field projectors.

Anya laughed. "There, better. Never argue with a woman." She grinned at him, then drew her phaser, keyed in the proper setting and made a (mostly) straight trench with it.
