Myne peeked in the sickbay carefully, holding her right arm behind her and trying to be very sneaky and quiet. As much as possible. She was looking for Gorn sized shapes. Being relieved to find the sickbay not that busy, she took a few steps inside timidly, wincing as she walked. As kind and gentle as the chief medical officer had proven to be, despite her own childhood fears on the subject of Gorns, she now felt more ashamed than anything. Hoping to solve her little mishap quickly and quietly.

"Hello? Is anyone here?!" She called out in a soft tone, conflicted between whispering or actually putting some sound in her tone. Her arm ached and pulsed painfully, suffering from a few burns. She had seriously overestimated her work on her little project and being rather careless and airhead the jolt of electricity did sear part of her skin.

Vise was still setting up her cybernetic equipment in her new office when she heard the voice. Stepping out she noticed the injured-looking trill and began hurrying over. " What happened?" She asked.

"Oh, a Trill, yay!!" Myne chirped suddenly and happily. "Erm, I had some circuits fry and zap my arm a bit too hard. I was careless for a few brief seconds." She said as she approached the medical officer. "It is so nice that I am not the only one aboard, this is really cool... ouchie!!" Myne buckled a big at the middle. "I hate electrical currents."

" Nice to see you to. Let's get you seen to." Vise said as she lead the way to her office.

"Yeah, sure." Myne nodded and walked slowly after Vise. "Name is Myne Redal by the way." She said as she entered the office.

" Vise Kesahl i'm the new cyberneticist. " The trill said as she opened the door to her office. The medical tools for her trade were beginning to fill the small room as were many of the photo's from the young woman's adrenaline hunting free time. " Just take a seat on the bio bed and i'll take a look at you."

"I am also new, tactical chief assistant. Cybernetics? Sounds fun... oh pretty pictures. You like to have a lot of... dangerous fun..." Myne said as she took a seat on the bio bed nervously.

" I've been told i'm an adrenalin junkey." Visa responded looking fondly at a few photos from her time high orbital skydiving on risa. " So what happened when you did this?" She inquired as she gently took the fellow trills hand

"Junkie? Maybe the doctor can prescribe you something against it?" Myne asked innocently. "That looks really dangerous, like really really dangerous." Looking from the the picture up to Visa she blushed ashamed as the doctor took her hand. "I... erm, was building a power source and it kinda blew up. Well, short circuited really, and then it zapped me."

" It's nothing compared to doing it on Jupiter onto the gas mining stations." The cyberneticist said as she ran a scanner over the wound. " Looks worse than it is, but I'm going to have to use a regenerator. Let me get you a pian killer."

"Jupiter? What is a Jupiter?" She asks looking down at her arm and exhaling relieved. "Oh that's good. Erm... can we do without painkillers? Erm... I get some bad tummy aches from Redal when I am given painkillers. I can take the pain, so no. worries about that."

" You still have symbiotic bonding issues? " Vise inquired.

"Erm... no..." Myne lied as best as she could. "Everything is fine, so about those burns?"

"You're a terrible liar Myne. It's okay I'm joined as well i know what it's like." The trill replied reassuringly.

"But..." Biting her lower lip, the clumsy Trill looked down and trembled slightly. "Please don't tell Commander Sthilg this. I've tried really hard to... keep this off any records. Please, pretty please, pretty pretty please."

" Why do you not want the chief to know? He's recorded speaks for itself and i haven't met anyone who's has a bad word to say about him?" She inquired with a concerned look.

Looking up at Vise with a bit reddened eyes, the Trill on the bio bed exhales softly. "Sh-shame..." The word comes out stuttered before she looks down again and reaches with a hand to rub her belly. "It is very private, if you weren't joined, I might not have mentioned it."

" Shame? What's there to be ashamed about?" Vise replied looking startled that one of her people would feel shame for being joined.

"I... am not a worthy host." Myne admitted almost in a whisper. "Redal has had strong hosts before me, the things they have endured and done weigh very heavily on me, on us. I don't even know how to put it in words, they are my memories but there are so many times when... I wish they are not or they do not feel like mine. So Redal gets, erm, anxious I guess every so often."

" My dear everyone gets confused and nervous when they become a host. I had to come to terms with being a pilot, artist, doctor, gambler and professional sportswoman. It all seems so much to compare ones life to, just as the next host will be wondering the same looking back at what you have done. " Vise replied ressuringly repeating what she'd been told by the bonding doctors.

Myne remained silent for a few moments before speaking. "So you felt like this too? Some days it feels a bit overwhelming. Most of the time I know they are my memories, I did those things and they are me. But some days, I know they are not me, some memories scare be deeply, while some I cannot help but let them make me feel so joyous that I cannot help but cry happily. Those days Redal seems rather upset with me, hence the tummy aches I think. Today feels like one of those days. What did you do to get better?"

" I talked to Miex. You won't believe how often that works." Vise said running her hand over where her own symbiote was nestled deep within her. " He keeps the memories strained out and stops me from being overwhelmed by them."

"Miex?" Myne asked confused, looking at Vishe and afraid she did not properly understand. "Your symbiote? You... talked to your symbiote?"

" Yup. He's my slug. Just grumble loudly and they should start listening also i stoped eating his favorite food." She said with a reassuring smile.

"No one ever told me I could do that." Myne confessed looking terribly ashamed. "I never tried talking to Redal before. Never in over three centuries." Suddenly her hands moved to slap and remain covering her face. "Fuck! I mean none of Redal's hosts ever tried to." She shivered slightly as she tried to individualize between herself the host and her symbiont.

" My first host thought of it though that may have been just him being stuck in his federation fighter for days at a time on deep-space patrol and he just had no one to talk to." the trill explained.

"This feels, wrong. Thinking of me as, well me and him, instead of just us. Or just me as having lived for so long. Damn, I hate these kind of days, they feel confusing and wrong. Why can't it be simple?" Myne sighed and removed her hands from her face. "So, how would I even get to talk to Redal?"

" Life is never simple. You should see how hard it is to get some of the cybernetic parts to talk to each other. Hell one of my previous host ended up married to a gorn. Just place your hand over your symbiote and gently talk to them." the cybernetasist replied showing her fellow trill what to do.

"I never had cybernetics before. Is it, painful?" Myne asked softly as her eyes went wide and her tone shifted to a whisper. "You married a Gorn? Weren't you like, afraid he would eat you or something?"

Looking really reluctant, Myne brought her hands to her stomach and rubbed gently. "I can't believe I am doing this. Hey Redal, you asshole, can you stop messing with my head please?" She even slapped her belly and started laughing suddenly. "This is so ridiculous!! Thank you Vise, this actually cheered me up quite a bit."

"No problem." the young doctor said as she carried on her work on the trills hand. " And no I had no fear that Kees would eat me. She was a loving soul like that even for a merch/hoverbiker."

"Yeah, I get that. It is just..." She sighed and looked at her arm at her burnt hand was worked on. "It is hard sometimes. Retaining a sense of self. Listen, I, erm, would you mind if I talk to you more often. Could really use someone to share these things. Off the record of course, I really don't want anyone to know I am dealing with these feelings."

" My door will always be open my friend." The surgeon said with a reassuring smile.

"Thank you. How is my hand doing? It stings a bit." Myne asked wincing a but as Vise works on her hand.

" It will be okay, but i'll need to bandage it up for a few days." The trill said as she stood up and went to the replicator for bandages.

"Bandages? Can I have pink or purple bandages?" The injured Trill asked perking up and offering a hopeful smile.

" I'll get you a pink one." The trill said as she picked up the healing patch and began replicating the bandages.

"Yay pink!! That will surely make my fellows in tactical like me more!! I've learned that pink is a good way to compensate for having a big, blabbing mouth!!" Loud giggling following by a silly yelp of pain come from Myne, who bumped her hand while being too busy being silly.

The trill gently applied the healing patch and began wrapping her hand until the burn was secure though the other trill wouldn't be able to move her bottom three fingers as well. " That should do it. It should be fully healed by the end of the week."

Myne stood as still as she could while her injured hand was tended to. After Vise finished, she tries to wiggle her fingers as best as she could, finding that only her thumb and index were mobile. "A few days without my right hand. This will be so boring, I can't even hold a tricorder properly with my left one! Still, thank you doctor."

"It's what i'm here for. If you need any help just drop by." The trill surgeon said with a polite smile.

"Thank you doc. If you are done fixing my arm, think I can go back to my room? Got a lot of cleaning to do and to salvage..." The patient trill looked at the door rather eager to return to the relative solitude of her room.

" Go ahead just keep an eye on your hand." The surgeon replied.

"I will!" She nodded and gingerly got up and waved with her other hand. "Thanks again Vise! Have fun with the cyber things!" Myne smiled and made her way out.
