Katherine held Jaden's shoulder as she looked at New Cannan from orbit. "Wow.." Jaden remarked. "Will we ever go home, mommy?"

"No Jaden, we cannot ever go home." Katherine noted.

"Why.."

Katherine responded. "Do you remember the mean people who hurt daddy. They will hurt us if we go home. You must never return to this world. We're going to a good new home now. Jaden." She picked up her son. "And the mean people who hurt daddy and granddad will not follow us."

The door leading to the corridor slid open and Gregor walked in. Seeing that the room was occupied, he stopped. "Oh! Forgive my intrusion! I didn't know anyone was in here."

"It's alright Gregor." Katherine mentioned as Jaden looked at the only world he once knew. "I wonder how long I would have done it, Gregor. Slipping you that medicine... Doing the right thing, knowing the price I would have paid. Danger has filled all my life, and the reason it has, Gregor, is that my grandfather taught me; first do no harm.' I was riddiculed through medical school for 'following a dated paradgim.'" Katherine mentioned. "'Experimentation required sacrifice' they said. If I could go back centuries, and tell my ancestors something, it would be not to get on that goddamned sleeper ship."

Gregor was silent for a few beats. He then dipped his head slightly, as he replied. "But, if it hadn't been for your kindness, and the kindness of the others, my brothers and sisters would all be dead, long ago."

"This place was a horrid world. I will not be returning here." Katherine mentioned. "Too many." She opened her locket that she kept around her neck. "... memories... Time to move on."

"Will you come with us to the world that the Federation will grant us? Once our asylum proceedings are concluded. You and your child would be most welcome, of course. Perhaps, if you wish to, you could help train new doctors, for our world, perhaps as a way to pay respects to your grandfather and his honorable teachings?"

Katherine smiled. "Dr. S'thilg has offered an understudy position for me so I can learn how to administer medicine to more than just humans, Gregor.. But I will keep your offer in mind. I think it might do good for Jaden to have a house and a field on this world for him to grow up in." Katie noted. "And we will leave the old racism and intollerance behind. Today we start anew, Gregor. Without James Green and his men."

Gregor nodded on both agreement and understanding. "It is truly a glorious new day for all of us. I will never allow the poison of Green to touch our new world."

Katherine responded. "With my work with Dr. Sthilg. I may be able to correct the genetic abnormalities of our people, Gregor. It will take much work. But in time.." Katie looked at Jaden. "The genetic problems your Outkasts have had to deal with shall be a thing of the past. I want very much for Jaden to have a son or daughter one day without having to worry about a stillbirth or any of the things that infested New Canaan." She noted. Katherine truly was a brilliant doctor. But her sheer intelligence was a secret from even Gregor until now. "And I don't want to be made to create horrible things for Green, when he threatened my son."

Gregor nodded, understanding. "Even if no cure is made, we are free of that monsterous regime. My people can live the rest of their lives in peace."

Katherine responded. "Gregor... I need you to be alert." She looked at him. "I heard rumors some time ago that President Green had agents in the populace. Even rumors of turncoats in the outkasts... Make sure none of them relay the Federation's technology back to New Canaan. Our world. Armed with the Federation's technology... Would be a terrible thing." Katherine's sharp mind was always on point.

Gregor nodded thoughtfully. "Yes, unfortunately, those rumors are true." He sighed a burden-full sigh. "Several years ago, Green did send three surgically altered soldiers in am attempt to infiltrate my people. Thankfully, a few of my brothers and sisters were born with certain gifts. They were able to detect the interlopers before any damage was done."

Looking back out at the world that was once his home, a look of resolution filled his face. "I personally returned the soldiers back to Green himself. Or at least, what was left of them. I put their three heads on Green's dresser top as he slept one night."

He looked back at Katherine. "You may think me a mobster for my deeds, but, I will do anything and everything, to keep my people safe."

"Those are terrible things to do. Yes, Gregor. But I do not blame you for having to do what had to be done. I also have had to do some very distasteful things to keep Green from killing Jaden... and raping me." Katherine noted. "No more.. No more intrigues and vile deeds. Those days are done."

Nodding slowly, the Outkast leader agreed. "Agreed. From now on, only peace for all of us. Never again will we hide in fear. We will live out in the open and masters of our own world."

Katherine responded. "But still keep weapons ready and train nontheless, my friend." The doctor noted. "There will always be wicked people like James Green. But never forget what my grandfather once told me; war never changes."

“The only thing that ever changes is how many innocents are lost in the struggle.” Gregor replied somberly. “We will remain ever vigilant to danger.”
