Arri continued to smile as she beat Quark and the other Ferengi again.

Quark shook his head as Arri gathered her winnings. "And the newest rule of Acquisition is; Never play games of chance with an Alindari. They can bluff like a Vulcan."

"I think of this as limiting your funds to what is necessary for you to maintain this bar, as you will be less likely to devote your financial resources to illegitimate enterprise." Arri gave a soft grin.

"Another rule of Acquisition; Alindari are demented." Arri put piles of latinum into a duffel when she saw Phoenix enter. "Good Afternoon, Phoenix." Arri smiled.

"Arri" The captain said and then her gaze landed on the Ferengi. "Quark." her tone told the Ferengi that she still had not forgiven him for selling her location to Erisian military officers 6 years before.

She looked at her CHOPS. "Do you have a moment or are you teaching Quark manners"

"Certainly, Phoenix." She noted with a smile.

Phoenix waited until Arri stood. "Lets go find a quiet place." She said pleasantly. "Too loud in here."

Arri smiled, "This is the promenade, Phoenix. You're going t ok be hard pressed to find peace and quiet here, but I know a place; the bajoran temple."

"Sounds fine with me" Phoenix replied as they made their way there. Once inside the atrium, Phoenix took a small breath. "So, You know by now that Ian left the ship when we docked right?"

"Probably running off to advance his career somewhere. I care not what happens to him." Arrianna noted. "I look forward to seeing him commanding a relay station somewhere."

Phoenix smiled at that but said "No he was requested by starfleet academy on earth. But anyway, that leaves the Chief of Science open. I am thinking you would do well there Arri."

"I served as Admiral A'rea's Chief of Sciences on the Pacific, and I excel in that area." She said with a smile.

"I know. So will you do it Arri?"Phoenix leaned against a pillar.

Arri smiled. "Sure, if not to 'return to my roots,' as humans say, but to torment Ian for being a narcissist. Phoenix, remind me not to date men for a while."

Phoenix laughed. "Oh come on, So your son was a brat but I found your daughter charming."

Arri shook her head with a smile. "I hope I am a better mother in this timeline, than I was in that timeline. It was interesting, learning how I messed up."

Phoenix smiled at that. "Well I am sure you will be. Though I would suggest keeping toilet seats away from any of your children."

"I'd tell myself I'd teach them my people's mental discipline... but maybe... that was my mistake the first time. I think I'll let them discover their own mental discipline and guide them indirectly. Allow them to make their own mistakes. They did tell me I was obsessed with leaving that planet. Phoenix." She smiled. "You're a mother to Mirian. Maybe you can advise me when the time comes."

Phoenix merely laughed "Well she did grow up well on that planet. I think you will be fine with whatever happens."
