Mission: Season 5: Episode 3: CAPETOWN
Location: USS Elysium, Charles Family Quarters
Timeline: MD 16 (two weeks after first away mission)

George and Hendor were both waiting outside of sickbay for Leilani to finally be released from the isolation chamber. George was smiling happily, while Hendor was practically hopping in excitement.

Leilani emerged from the isolation room full of emotion at being able to hold both her husband and son again. Two weeks had seemed like a lifetime, not something she wanted to repeat ever again!

Upon seeing Leilani, Hendor sprang away from George and made a bee-line right for his mother, arms spread open wide. "Mama!!" He squealed happily.

Leilani crouched down arms open wide. “Hendor!!” As he rushed into her arms she held him lovingly in her embrace, picking him up off the floor as she did so. “I’ve missed you soooo much!!!”

"I missed you too, Mama!!" Hendor said in reply as he buried his face in her the sid of her neck. He held tightly to her, as tightly as his little arms and legs could.

George, love for his family clearly filling his whole face, moved to embrace the both of them. He paused only breifly, to allow Leilani to embrace and pick up their son first. "Imzadi!" He wrapped his strong arms around the both of them, holding his family close. He turned his face towards hers and kissed her as deeply as was appropriate, what with Hendor’s face a scant few inches away.

Leilani returned George’s kiss. “I’ve missed you Imzadi, I can’t wait to get out of here!”

After the kiss was finished, George shifted his hold to stand beside his wife, his right arm around her waist, pulling both her and Hendor, who refused to release his mother, to him. "Let's go home."

“Oh yes please!” Leilani grinned as she held onto Hendor, who was holding onto her for dear life.

The happily reunited family made their way through the massive ship, until finally, the reached the door to their quarters.

Hendor whispered into his mother's ear, "You have to close your eyes now, Mama."

George simply smiled, giving nothing away.

“In that case you’ll have to get down and guide me” Lani smiled as she looked at Hendor. Putting him down she closed her eyes and held out her hand.

Hendor smiled brightly as he tried not to giggle too loud. He didn't want to give away the surprise. Taking his mother's hand, he escorted her into their home. George followed behind them, smiling happily.

Once they were inside and the door had slid shut. Hendor jumped up and down in excitement. "Open your eyes, Mama!!"

Opening her eyes Leilani’s mouth dropped open as she looked around. Their quarters were decorated with pretty coloured balloons, streamers, and banners. Her eyes were immediately drawn to a hand written and coloured banner with “Welcom Home Mama!!!” Slightly misspelt on it. Amongst it all were vases upon vases of her favourite flowers, and a pile of presents too!

Leilani stood speechless for a few moments, tears in her eyes. “It’s...it’s...beautiful!!! Thank you!!” She turned to give Hendor and George both big hugs and kisses.

Hendor squealed happily when he saw his mother's reaction. He gave Leilani a very strong hug and a kiss on her lips before George hugged them both, kissing his wife as soon as their son moved his head. "We wanted to show you how much we missed you, Imzadi."

“You’ve certainly done that!” Leilani grinned. “So how’s about we sit down and open these gifts?”

Hendor squealed again in excitement. After Leilani put him down, he bounded over to the coffee table, that held nearly a dozen different-sized gifts. "Sit here, Mama!" He patted a spot on the couch, then moved to the pile and picked up the first gift.

He was very excited to do all of this, my love, George sent to Leilani. We both were. But, I think he may have beat me by a sector. He put his arm around his wife's waist and led her to the couch.

Taking a seat on the sofa Leilani grinned as Hendor brought her the first gift. “Thank you Sweetheart!” She smiled as she carefully opened the gift wrap, opening a soft padded box she was surprised to find a gorgeous necklace with a Mama token attached. She looked up at Hendor. “Did you make this?”

Hendor grinned with his whole face and nodded rapidly. "Papa helped, but I picked the shapes and colors." He sounded very proud of his creation. More so that Mama seemed to love it so.

“Then I’m going to wear it with pride!” She gently took it out of it’s box. “Imzadi, would you help me to put this on?”

"Of course, my love." George smiled and took the necklace. He then opened the clasp and, after draping it over the front of Leilani’s neck, he closed the clasp at back. "There you go," he said with a smile.

”Thank you Imzadi” She fingered the necklace before gently kissing George.

Hendor smiled as he looked at his parents. Then, he picked up another gift and handed it over. "This one's from Papa.'

“Mmmm now I wonder what might be in here?” She carefully opened the parcel to find a teddy of one of her all time favourite film characters. “Gizmo!!” She grinned as she gave it a hug. “How on Earth did you get this!? Do you know how rare these are now!?”

George smiled and shrugged. "I know a guy, owed me a favor. Apparently, this one is the only one in the entire quadrant." He smiled again, glad he had found something she really wanted. "You're worth it and more, Imzadi."

Hendor kept smiling. "Which one do you want to open now, Mama?"

“How’s about another gift from you Hendor?” Leilani smiled warmly. “I’m extremely lucky to have all of this waiting for me.”

"Okay, Mama!" Hendor replied happily. He then stood, looking at the remaining gifts, finally deciding on the largest one. After wrapping his short arms around it, he carefully brought it over, half handing it to his mother and half putting it on the deck in front of her. "This one!"

“Ohh my...it’s huge!” She looked between her husband and son wondering what they’d gotten for her this time.

Opening the present Leilani was shocked to find a large statue, a Vulcan made one depicting family. To Vulcans family was extremely important. “Ohhh my...” She looked at George wide eyed. “This is beautiful, thank you!!”

"You're welcome, my love." He leaned in and kisses her gently, not wanting to go too far with their son right there.

There's still a couple more presents for you, Mama!" Hendor said with a happy grin. He wanted to give his mama every present that was ever made, that's how much he had come to love her.

“Then how’s about you come sit on my knee and help me open them?” Leilani smiled as she looked towards Hendor, before offering George a return kiss full of promise for when Hendor was in bed.

Happily, Hendor collected the that few gifts and moved over to his mother. Once he was secure in her loving lap, he held one up to her. "This one is very light, Mama. You should be okay to open it."

Leilani nodded. “Thank you Sweetheart, I wonder what awaits me inside this one?” She peeled open the wrapping to find a small basket filled with all different kinds of seashells. “Ohh Wow! I love these!” Leilani grinned like a giddy little schoolgirl as she examined the shells through their protective outer covering. “I’m going to display these just as they are.”

Hendor smiled. "I picked those out, Mama." He sounded very happy that she enjoyed his gift.

‘You’re a wonderful boy Hendor” Leilani hugged him gently. “I’m very proud to be your mother.”

Hendor wrapped his short arms around his mother and squeezed. "I love you, Mama!!"

George reached over a gently ran his hand through Hendor's short hair. "That last gift, Mama can open later. It's a special gift from Papa."

Leilani smiled. “I can’t wait to find out what it is! I am the luckiest woman there’s ever been, having both of you in my life. Actually...you’re going to be a big brother in several months time. Auntie Emily is...” She paused to think. “She’s growing mama’s baby inside her right now, but I’ll be able to have the baby back soon. He, or she won’t be born for a lot of months yet so there’s plenty of time for us okay?”

Hendor looked at his mother quizically. Then he started to smile again. "I've never been a big brother to anybody before! Can I help take care of the baby?!"

“Of course you can!” Lani grinned. “Just know this, no matter what, Mama will always love you. You will not be pushed out, or forgotten once the baby arrives, that I promise you!”

"Yeah, bubba," George agreed. "You will always be, not only our son and oldest child, but our first. That will never change, no matter what."

Hendor considered their words for a few beats, his young mind only comprehending some. However, he did understand them when they said that he would always be loved and wanted by them. This made him very happy. "I love you, Mama! I love you, Papa!" He then reached out and tried to hug them both.
