The next time Rin saw the ship's counselor, which was outside of mandatory appointments as their first session had been only a few days prior-but it seemed she was spotting Rael all over the place-was in the holodeck. Maybe he didn't like his quarters, or more specifically, maybe he did like standing on his head inside of the program that Rin had accidentally interrupted when the computer doors parted.
There were chirping birds and trees interspersed along the golden holographic grid and walls-sparring equipment, some Vulcan-style bladed weaponry, a heavy-bag, exercise tools, a meditation low-table with an asenoi and two floor-pads. A tapestry with sprawling Golic vertical script. It wasn't a complicated program, so it was probably something he'd coded himself.
He'd forgotten to register that he was in there, and she'd booked the time to run some simulations, so he was completely in the wrong-a fact that he appeared to realize in short order when his eyes (vague, and upside-down) managed to meet hers. "Lieutenant Rin," he smiled, the expression flipped bizarrely. He kicked his legs out and came down to land fluidly on his feet in a single easy maneuver, tugging down his uniform shirt. "My apologies, it utterly slipped my mind to check the reservation logs. I can get out of your hair, unless you'd like some company?"
"Well....um...I was planning on practicing for my bridge crew certification. Not really a company thing."
She walked over to the weapons rack and picked up a short bladed weapon, casually flipping it in the air as she tested its balance. "So, I get the reason for holographic weapons, but why a holographic gym? Elysium has a perfectly fine gymnasium."
"It absolutely does," Rael smiled easily once more. "However, this program comes equipped with many gravity differential settings that allow me to practice in an environment closer to Vulcan standard."
"Do you ever spar?"
"I've been known to, occasionally. How about you?"
"I enjoy it. And swordfighting is something of a lost art among most in Starfleet." She returned the Vulcan weapon to its stand. "Computer, one Tavaran dasshi."
The weapon, a replica of the short sword hanging on the wall in her quarters, appeared at her feet, which she picked up. "Interested?"
