~ Drax ship ~

Sitting aboard the ship her husband her escorted to in a big hurry, Kiera couldn’t wait to get to their new home. Her half sister Freya Savette had been recalled home, and she was taking Freya’s place as Consul aboard the USS Elysium. Her thoughts were interrupted at the sound of the ship’s Commander approaching.

“We’re almost within range of the USS Elysium your highness. Would you like us to hail them?”

Kiera nodded. She wanted to complain about the use of a title she never used, but it was custom and orders given her family ties. “Thank you Commander. I’d like to hail them if you don’t mind?”

The Commander nodded and motioned her towards his seat on the bridge.

Gary was on the bridge when the call came through. "Greetings Princess, this is Commander Taylor. I am the Elysium's Executive Officer and so I have been informed. Do you wish to use a shuttle or transporter to come aboard?"

“Transporting over will be fine by me Commander” Kiera smiled.

"As you wish Princess. Will you be the only one transporting over?" Gary asked.

Kiera nodded. “My husband will be joining me when he’s finished his current assignment. Which hopefully won’t be too long. I'll be transporting over right away, this ship has to get my half-sister home.”

"I will be awaiting your arrival in the transporter room 1 Princess. I look forward to meeting you in a few minutes." Gary replied as he rose from the center seat to get to transporter room 1 and greet their newest arrival.

~ Transporter Room 1 ~

As the familiar transported effect wore off Kiera stepped down off the transporter PADD to greet Taylor. “Permission to come aboard Commander.” She smiled warmly.

"Permission granted and welcome aboard the Elysium." Gary replied with equal warmth.

“Thank you Sir. I apologise for the quick swap over, I’m taking over the same positions Freya had. Your Exchange Officer and I’m also a Psychologist like my half-sister, it’s one thing we both have in common.”

"Excellent." Gary commented. "That is a seamless enough transfer and exchange and no apology is necessary, I assure you." He observed.

Kiera nodded. “I’m looking forward to being a part of the Elysium crew, would you like me to start in any particular department? I am here to learn after all.”

Gary shook his head, "No, you have a free hand in this. Start with any department you like."

“Thank you Sir. If you don’t mind I’d like to start with Command, just shadow you and the senior staff in your daily duties.”

"That is fine with me Counselor. No objections at all." Gary answered with a smile.

“Thank you Sir. With your permission I’d like to settle into my quarters and freshen up first?”

"Of course." Gary handed her a PaDD. "It's your sister's former quarters. I hope you don't mind. It's been cleaned and had furniture already in it and your belongings have also been taken there."

“That’s wonderful, thank you!” Kiera smiled warmly. “I understand that use of my abilities here is restricted, that reading thoughts is forbidden, but reading emotions is permitted. On my world we openly share our thoughts with each other, but I will keep my mental barriers firmly up.”

"Thank you. Might prevent any embarrassing situations if you caught someone's stray thoughts." Gary returned with a smile.

Kiera grinned. “That has happened before Sir! Very embarrassing indeed. I will check in with your ship’s doctor for my medical once I’ve settled in.”

"Very good Counselor. Once you've settled in and refreshed yourself give me a call and you can begin your shadowing." Gary told her.

“I will, thank you Commander.” Kiera smiled warmly. “Oh... would you mind showing me which way to go? I haven’t had chance to learn the specs of the ship as yet.”

"Certainly." Gary answered. "When you leave here go right about a hundred feet and a lift will be on your left. You can take that to your deck and to your quarters, where you can freshen up."

“Thank you Sir” Kiera smiled and nodded. “In that case I’ll see you on the bridge in a little while.”

"I look forward to seeing you on the bridge Counselor and you can get down to work." Gary answered with a smile.
