Lily knew the Elysium well, so it was rather easy to sneak into Medical, and the Chief's office. She slid through the door glad that Avalon was on her side and blocking her from ships sensors. She sat down at the desk, taking the liberty she never would have done it in her normal role. She paused as she spotted the box on the desk and the hand written note.

Elizabeth and William. I write to you in case I don't make it through the next mission. I'm leaving this with a trusted friend to be delivered on your sixteenth birthday. It's time someone told you the truth about your mother. Do not believe the rubbish about her being a traitor or a criminal. Your mother............

The note ended there the gorn having hurriedly rushed off

She smiled wistfully, glad she was about to come clean to the Doctor. After Gary, he was the next person she trusted with her life.

Sthilg ran his hands over his head as he stepped back into his office. Another day being a busy ship's doctor making sure all the civilians had all the medication they'd needed. Now he....

He stopped dead as he smelt the same smell blocker.

" Can I help you Miss Kasssss?" He asked as he saw her over at his desk.

She turned and smiled. "Actually Doctor, I came by to speak with you."

" What about? Do you have medical isssssuesss?" He inquired

"No, can you deactivate the security in here doctor?" Lily moved away from his desk and took a seat.

The gorn was about to ask why when he realised his brain was still trying to place the face. He had seen her before, but where. " Very well." he said calmly as he walked to his desk and touched a few buttons. " Sssecurity is down. " he said calmly looking at the stranger.

Lily reached up and touched her earing. And the blond hair was suddenly black and when she smirked, blinked the Violet eyes were suddenly silvery blue. The only thing that remained was the Bajoran nose. "Doc" the voice was no longer Lily Kass's but that of someone he knew, Had known for years.

" Phoenix? " the gorn burst out without thinking a look of confusion, shock and delight on his face. " what are....." he stammered before his thoughts started to form correctly. " I hope you aren't offended if I sssay that part of me wantsss to hug you and the other ssslap you."

She laughed softly. "I'll take the hug if you want to give it. The slap I could do without" She stood up.

The gorn did so standing up and wrapping his arms around her. " What have you gotten yourself into now you sssilly girl."

Phoenix hugged him back. "You know me, I don't know what crap is going to hit until i am up to my neck in it" She said muffled against him.

" Ssso all thisss cloak and dagger isss all real. Thisss admiral really needsss to go down?" he inquired.

Phoenix nodded as she stepped back. "Yes, its real." she replied softly. "I know people are pissed at the situation, and will be pissed at me when they find out who Kass is."

The gorn nodded as he reached for two coffee cups and poured two glasses. " They will, but I'm sssure you'll come up with an explanation and remember we're more than a crew, we're a family."

"A family who I kept in the dark about this whole thing" Phoenix said. "A family who had to... deal with Carrington."

" They will underssstand. " The gorn pressured her. " And it'sss not for usss to judge Carrington. Now ssshe mussst ssstand before the all mother at the gatesss to the hunting groundsss."

"And she will not pass them" Phoenix said as she took the drink and sat down. "I have missed this ship, this crew." She admitted ruefully.

" Asss sssoon asss thisss whole buisssnesss isss over you can come back." the gorn said reassuringly. " Have you heard I may be joining the medical council?"

"No, that's great!" She beamed a smile at him. "A great opportunity for you Doc"

" I've alssso asssked Deanna on a date. How isss it that isss the mossst terrifying thing going through my mind?" he inquired.

"Because you are scared. Love does that to people" Phoenix said softly. "Its a natural thing."

" I know." The doctor replied as his pale eyes started into his coffee. " I already lossst one family I don't want to losses another."

"That won't happen this mission Doc." Phoenix said softly. "I will do whatever I can to protect this crew."

The gorn weakly nodded as he looked at his friend. " We can beat them can't we? What if he hasss another ssship or more men?"

"I have spent the past few weeks chopping off all his assets and people. Even his number 2 is in prison now. He has only his small group of people. We will win."

" I hope ssso. " the gorn said looking down at his drink. " i've been reading to my grankidsss every night. Going to be painful to misssss that."

Phoenix smiled at that. "I heard you have a new grandchild. Boy or girl?"

" Girl. N’Vea Allison Kelea-Sssalik." the gorn replied as he reached for his holo imager and flipped it to a hologram of the small child.

Phoenix smiled at it. "Oh she is very beautiful" she said with honestly. "You are very lucky Sthilg."

The gorn was quiet as he looked at the hologram and then back to his coffee. " I truly am." he said warmly before closing the device. " Now I take it you'll be wanting your team made to appear as if they've been ruffled up before the admiral arrived," he asked before pausing and replying again. " Where did you find them by the way?"

"Starfleet" she grinned at him. "Several are marines, a couple are Intelligence officers. And Garrett and Gary will also need to look a bit rough, Neither will let me do it." She added with a mock pout.

" I'll do my best to make them look like they've had a bad encounter with a gorn and a Sssequusss." The gorn replied with his most confident voice. " Thank you for trusssting me with this Phoenix. " He said softly.

She smiled at the gorn. "All good. I best head back to my new quarters before someone gets suspicious as to why Lily Kass is talking to the CMO."

The gorn opened his arms to give her a hug.

Phoenix went willing into his arms.

" Take care of yourself Lily." he said warmly as he wrapped his arms around her. " There'sss sssandwhiches in the ssstasssisss field. You need to keep your ssstregth up."

"Thank you Doc" Phoenix said as she reassumed her holographic disguise.

The gorn watched her go but called out just as she was about to exit the door. " One more thing. The ssscent blocker your using. The mahogany option is lessss powerful, but it doesssn't leave sssuch a lingering tassste in the air." he added with a slight grin.

"I'll change it. Have to keep S'hib off his game as well!" Lily said and gave him a wave and was out the door.

The gorn gave her a slight wave as he watched her leave. Leaning back into his chair he started a prayer to the all mother. He hoped she would be with his freind.
