Mission: MISSION 0 - History Speaks
Location: Cargo Bay
348 words - 0.7 OF Standard Post Measure

"Pistol or rifle?" a crewman asked as Ebi got to the front of the line of people waiting for weapons. The crewman looked a bit quizzical about Ebi's presense. It wasn't just the implants or even the fact what his race was unidentifiable: Ebi he wasn't in Starfleet uniform, unlike most people here, and he was a stranger, as the crew man was confident he'd remember a face like THAT walking around the ship. But apparently he was supposed to be here, and questioning that was well above the crewman's pay grade.

"Pistol," Ebi replied, not wanting to be bogged down in corridors by a large weapon. Once handed the weapon, he gave it a quick onceover to make sure he knew how this particular model functioned. I mean, guns were fairly self-explanatory, but he'd hate to get into a fight with the safety still on. The check was quick and professional looking: this was clearly someone who had handled a weapon before.

Satisfied, he looked at Tonelly, the next closest individual. "Care for some backup? I can handle myself fine. Just point me in a direction."

David grinned a friendly grin to the tall alien. "Glad to take any help I can get." He holstered his phaser and switched his tomahawk to his left hand. Extending his right, he introduced himself. "Corporal David Tonelly. I'm one of the unit's snipers."

Ebi took the hand with a firm grasp. "Ebi. Botanist. I keep hoping to never lift a weapon again, but here I am, not yet on the Elysium a week. But if this is going to be home I'm going to fight for it."

David grinned, despite the situation. "That's great to hear!" He heafted his tomahawk in his right hand, spinning it expertly. Shall we?"

Ebi nodded, then paused for a moment, eyes unfocusing. Then his attention snapped back. "Unless you've got orders, I suggest Engineering. They've got heavy fighting down there."

David nodded. "My orders are simple. Kill or capture the enemy." He started to head out. "Let's go."

To Be Continued In "End Game"...
