"Sharing the News"

After Lt. jg Josephine Carlyle had left his office after mysteriously beaming onto the station, from undoubtedly a cloaked ship, Captain Garrett Lovejoy had a call to make to Lt. Carlyle's commanding officer, one Commodore Phoenix Lalor of the USS Elysium. He sent a subspace message on a secure channel. This was news he didn't want to get out at least not yet and he owed it to Phoenix to let her know before anyone else knew that Josephine was back. He sat as his desk and waited for the connection to be made. As he waited, he thought on Josie's sudden reappearance. She said she had been held prisoner by a Kyle Cragen and then his associate a Michael Bishop. Josie had been missing for months, like seven if his memory was right. Any information Josie had on Cragen's/Bishops operation would be invaluable. he was roused from his thoughts as the computer beeped. The connection was being established.

The connection cleared and Commodore Lalor appeared on the screen. She gave a smile. "Garrett" She said brightly. "What a surprise! We are going to be visiting you in a couple of weeks."

Hello Phoenix." Garrett returned pleasantly. "We're already getting ready for the Elysium's visit. We're going to have you over for dinner when you get here. Sam's already working on the menu. Oh, congratulations on the promotion to commodore, richly deserved."

"Sounds lovely. So why the call?" Phoenix asked curiously.

"Ah,yes. As to the reason I am contacting you. I have news about a member of your crew, and I wanted you to be the first one to hear it."

A puzzled look crossed Phoenix's face and then it cleared. "Lieutenant Carlyle?" she hazzard a guess.

Garrett nodded, "Yes indeed Lieutenant jg Josephine Carlyle, beamed onto the station about an hour ago. Said she had been held by one Michael Bishop an associate of Kyle Cragen. Oh, one other thing Phoenix, she is pregnant."

Phoenix stared. "oh crap. I can guess who the father is. i.. is she Josephine or calling herself Sephine?"

"Sephine? No, she identified herself as Lt. Josephine Caryle and she seemed fully aware of what was going on and where she was." Garrett answered,

Phoenix nodded. "Okay... so... Oh Gods Arri is going to loose it again." She ran a hand through her hair as she considered the situation "Our engines are undergoing repairs and such or we would be on our way to collect her. Can you make sure she gets to Earth Safe Garrett?"

"Of course, I can Phoenix, I'll also send a security officer with her as an escort and nothing else to make sure she arrives safely. Where would you like her destination to be?"

"That would be up to her, but my suggestion would be Starfleet medical." Phoenix said softly. "I know part of what happened from Arri and my time as Kass but I think she is going to need medical and counseling."

"She in medical here on the station, they are giving a complete exam both mental and physical. But sure, I can send the shuttle to Starfleet medical. Are you going to meet her when she arrives?"

"Yes, I want to see her before I inform Arrianna. And when I do, I will make sure counselors are with me when i tell Arrianna." Phoenix was trying to figure out things "Its going to be a mess"

"I think that is a good idea to see Lt. Carlyle by yourself. You, she and Arri don't need the additional stress right now that a reunion is going to cause. I don't envy you in this. You know she could stay here, and you could collect her when the Elysium arrives." Garrett offered.

"While that is an idea, but she has family here, her parents and such" Phoenix said with a small smile.

"Alright, I was only trying to help. I didn't want her to be swamped with people wanting to see her it can be over whelming. I know how it was with Samantha." Garrett replied.

Phoenix nodded "I agree which is why Arri won't find out until after Starfleet medical clears Josephine"

"Alright Phoenix. Josephine and Arri are members of your crew, you know them best." Garrett replied with a nod.

"I am not sure anyone knows Arri these days Garrett." Phoenix said. "Thank you for helping Josephine though."

Garrett nodded, "You are welcome, Phoenix, glad to help you, along with Josie and Arri."

"If you can let me know when she leaves for Earth, it would be greatly appreciated Garrett, I will keep an eye out for her."

'Absolutely I will. Right now, I would guess it will be at least two to three days before she leaves." Garrett answered,

Phoenix nodded. "Understandable. Oh and Bishop... he is sneaky. Check everything she has brought with her for trackers."

Garrett gave a nod of his own. "Will do and thank you for the tip on Bishop. She didn't bring much but we'll go over it with a fine-tooth comb. "

"Good, He has all of Cragens resources now." She smiled. "Keep in touch Garrett and thank you again."

"We'll be on guard Phoenix, and we'll keep Josephine safe. I'll send you a subspace when she gets ready to leave." Garrett replied.
