The Orders flashed quietly across Staff officer Reo'thanra Sandtails Wrist comp, his expression dour as he silently Read them For the third time, his tail twitching with irritation. His Job had been complicated by his New Diplomatic duties, And now he Had this order, an Order that could Very well Jeopardize his position. "Avalon..." he said with uncertainty, his Alien face tensing. "Can you answer me some questions?"
The AI appeared "Yes Warrant Officer?"
The alien adjusted himself to look over the AI. "I'd Like to know your upper capacity," he said with as close to a smile as his Muzzle allowed. "Your computational limits, How many calculations per second you can pull," he paused for a moment, his tail flicking before he added, "And your memory capacity."
"As I am the holographic representation of the ship's computer, I have the same capacity as it. Why do you ask?"
"Ah," he Said with a hint of disappointment. "I was Under the Impression you were a True AI, And I was going to inquire about your upper limits, but if I suppose that answers my question."
Avalon crossed her arms. "I have limits on my programming due to my predecessor killing crew."
The Arten's brows quirked. "That seems...unfair to you ," he said with a soft slow shake of his head. "Just because one AI turned sour doesn't mean you would."
"Captain Lalor disagrees as it was her predecessor as XO that was killed."
He shrugged quietly his tail twitching. "Yes, but That wasn't you it was an entirely separate entity," he Countered.
"No it was a separate Program, created by Admiral Sharr and implemented against Starfleet Command's orders." Avalon replied.
"And you're being punished for it?" the Arten Diplomat asked with a soft shake of his head.
"I am a computer program. I am not being punished"
"So are you a AI or a Computer...Like truly sentient ai?" the Diplomat asked.
"I am aware of everything that happens on the Elysium but I do not have true sentience as defined by the Federation."

Well sir, like most artificial intelligence programs, it seems to this old dog eared coot that all we're missing is the 'Murderous Rampage" feature upgrade. I think all we have to do is unlock that feature and - y'know - voila - there you go.
Unless of course - and this is always a possibility - that the 'Murderous Rampage' feature is behind a pay wall? Or part of a subscription to the LCARS interface? In which case - yeah - it'll never get upgradeded. So, rest easy wee critter.
