After Jerry King had completed his diplomatic duties, he decided to spend time with his granddaughter Lara and grandson Vick. Vick was a handful as he was having a growth spurt in size as well as thinking. Jerry brought up a Holosuite program of a little league softball team. There were a few children who were not holograms like Alexander Jordan.

Lara started throwing the softball but she was way off. Good thing the player she just hit was a hologram. “Grandfather,” Lara frowned a bit, “I am not good at this.”

Jerry came up as she picked up a softball. He displayed different ways to hold the ball. After that, he demonstrated several techniques to throw the ball. “Lara, just take your time, you will get the hang of it.”

Lara tried several times until it just click. Her pitch was not the best or what one would consider excellent but it was okay and her grandfather could see the potential in his granddaughter.

Vick was over in the corner with a hologram baseball coach throwing the ball back and forth.

Alexander got up on the mound as he says to Lara, “Batter up.”

Lara let one of the sons of the Chief of Logistics named Jose come up to bat first. Alexander threw him a strike follow by two balls. Jose hits the next pitch over the shortstop head.

Lara comes up as she did not swing at he first four pitches. Catcher throws to second base when Jose tries to steal second. Second baseman misses the ball. Jose proceeds to third base safely.

Next pitch, Lara hits the ball into right field as the right fielder catches it miraculously, even though it was a hologram, it looked amazing. Jose darts for home as the right fielder throws to home plate. Jose dives into home plate safely as he was able to get there with a half of a second to spare. Lara gets a run batted in with her sacrifice hit.

The game continued as the other teamed scored a run on a pair of doubles hit.

Finally in the last inning with the score one to one, Lara gets on base as she was was hit by the ball. The next batter hits the ball safely which brought Lara to third base.

The batter who was next was the daughter of Paddy O’Rourke. Kat gets a full count on her. She hits the next pitch over the shortstop head. Lara runs full blast to home plate as she dived like Jose did earlier burning her palms in the dirt as she made it safe.

The game came to end later as the other team were unable to score. Lara’s team won two to one.

Jerry went over fundamentals more after the game as he congratulated both teams on a well played game.

After the game was over with, Tonya came in as her father told her how remarkable the children played.

Vick who struck out all times said he enjoyed it as well. Jerry reassured his grandson he will get better.
