Jaeih beamed back to the Elysium to assist with the Captain's beam down. But before she went to see the Captain, she stopped by Medical. She had a question.

Estelle was sitting by a desk, massaging her temples. This day had produced nothing but a massive headache. She was fighting to keep it together. She knew that she couldn't allow herself to give in to her worries, there were people down here counting on her, and the other doctors, to put them back together after the ordeal they had been through. But she couldn't continue without a break. There was a mug of coffee in front of her but it hadn't been touched yet.

Directed to the ACMO's office Jaeih knocked on the door jam. "Dr Hertz?"

"Yes?" Estelle asked, turning around to look up, seeing their part-Romulan crewmember. She'd only recently looked at her medical file, she was always interested in exotic species, hybrids especially, and was now struggling to remember the woman's name. "Jay, right?"

"Jaeih." The hybrid smiled faintly. "I am sorry to interrupt Doctor, just wondered if you have a moment?"

"Yes, yes of course", Estelle said, pointing towards the other chair in the small room. "I'm taking a break, I had to get off my feet. But my brain's awake."

Jaeih took the seat with a smile. "I know that feeling" taking a breath she folded her hands in her lap. "I have a question around the contraception injection. "

"I'm afraid we have neither time nor resources right now to delve into reproductive medicine", Estelle responded. "Can't this wait until... well, everything is back to normal?"

"It is about the situation on the ground. I was talking to people and women down there face rape daily and the rate of pregnancy is increasing. They believe that the injections are compromised."

"I wish there was a sex drive inhibition agent we could spray over places like this, at times like these", Estelle sighed. "Well, I'd have to take a look at their supplies. Or better yet, take a sample or five up to the ship, have the lab look at them." She'd prefer to be able to do something for those women, to prevent them from getting raped in the first place, but that was a matter for security.

"I have people down there guarding our medical supplies" Jaeih said. "They say that medicine down there is for those who can afford it. And the cost for contraception is extreme." She took a breath. "Sorry to add to it, with the virus and such."

"Well, I suppose we could always replicate a few hundred thousand doses and drop them by shuttle?" Estelle said. "But what we really need is more security on the ground. Shoot anyone who so much as threatens to attack someone else." She clenched her fists. "I'm not usually one to advocate violence, but these are unusual circumstances."

Jaeih considered it. "I'll suggest it to Commander Holmes. I am sure she may agree what with everything going on."

"And we need to watch out for any ships trying to leave the planet", Estelle said, though she was sure that had already been reported up the chain of command by Anje. "It looks like they want to sell Liorga to someone, and I don't think they'd be stupid enough to try this down here, while we're looking."

Jaeih nodded. "A Deltan if I am not mistaken?"

Estelle nodded. "Yes, and a very beautiful one, too." Which, in these circumstances, wasn't exactly an advantage, Estelle knew.

"I will get Ops and Science to configure the sensors to keep an eye out for her bio signs."

"Thank you", Estelle said. She finally took a sip of her coffee and made a face. It was still bad, and on top of it, it was cold. But there were more important things to worry about, so she made no complaint.

More important things than coffee. The situation was dire indeed. This just didn't happen. Coffee was always on the top of her list. Estelle had to get a grip again, focus on her coffee. But could she?

Jaeih smiled and stood. "Thank you for your time Doctor. After this is all finished, I will come back to discuss some personal issues if that is ok?"

"Yes, of course it is." Estelle gave her a wry smiled. "Once I have my Liorga back, I'm sure you'll find me in a much better mood, too."
