Arri arrived at the residence sometime after the wedding and pushed the doorbell.
The door opened and Phoenix stood there. "Arrianna?" she asked curiously.
From inside, Mattias's voice could be heard. "Who is it, honey?"
"I have come to give Phoenix her wedding gift." Arri noted. "I prepared it to her specifications."
Walking over, Mattias put an arm around Phoenix's waist. "Then by all means, Arri, please come in," he said with a smile.
Phoenix stepped back and waved her inside. "Shall we go to the lounge?"
Mattias nodded. "You ladies go ahead, I'll get drinks and snacks, then join you." He looked over at Arrianna. "Arri, what can I get you to drink?
"Something... Very non-alcoholic.." Arri noted. "I would have given this to you during the wedding, Phoenix. However, the dancing..." She sighed. "Anyway. I have something truly spectacular to give you." She set the elongated case down and opened it. It was a elegantly crafted sword made from a crystaline material. Beautiful in its construction. "Pick it up. It's lighter yet stronger than it looks. And it's not as fragile as it looks."
Phoenix picked up the sword and held it. "It's certainly unique," she said as she studied it carefully.
"We made the first of these blades to fight the borg. It is made out of a very specialized form of carbon that can sheer a borg drone's exoskleton and implants with one slash."
A few moments later, Mattias entered, carrying a tray full of goodies. "Oh wow! Arri, that's beautiful!" He set the tray down and looked at Phoenix. "How's it feel, honey?"
"It's very easy to hold." Phoenix said her eyes still examining the blade. "I am going to have to make sure it is well out of reach of the kids."
"At least until they're old enough to start training with their own swords," Mattias smiled over at his beautiful bride as he spoke.
Who raised an eyebrow. "Okay, you can train them."
"I wouldn't keep a weapon meant for war in the reach of children, Phoenix. Take care when you draw it. As I mentioned. It will penetrate a borg drone's exo-suit and its enhanced tissues and bone." Arri mentioned. "It's composition is also extremely rare." Arri noted. "It's a great honor for an Alindari to gift someone with a sword." She mentioned. "An honor that is given when you saved my life from a lifetime of degradation." She noted. "In my despair you voice reached me in my subconscious that day and I rebelled against the thing that took control of my body and mind. Freeing me from slavery... is worthy of me gifting you with a sword."
Mattias grinned first at Phoenix, "Uh, obviously I'm going to train them, just like I trained you with blades." He gave her a quick wink, then looked over at Arri. "We both know how to treat weapons, Arri. And we will teach our children how to treat them as well. It's the only responsible thing a parent can do in a situation like this."
Phee touched Arri's hand. "I am just glad we were able to help you Arrianna"
"Besides. You like giving Phee pointy things too, Mattias." Arri noted.
Caught off guard by her comment, it took Mattias a few beats to get the filth out of his mind and simply smiled as he replied. "Hey, one can never have enough blades."
Phoenix rolled her eyes. "Men and their sense of humour." she teased her husband. "Or should that be Human men and their sense of humour?"
Mattias smirked. "Oh, I'm sure for the majority of us, we all have the similar sense of humor. Erisian men being the exception, other than Kyian of course." He winked at his bride as he spoke. He then served everyone their drink and placed a few small dishes of snacks and mini pastries on the table between them.
Arrianna responded. "I'm taking this one day at a time, Phee. We have a lot to think about. But I can assure you." She pulled out the engagement ring she made on a golden chain. "it's made out of the same material I made your sword Phoenix. This one ring is worth many times its weight in latinum. I'll only do it when the time is right, and I don't know when." She noted. "It's Lia that's providing me the greatest amount of help. I went to their quarters recently and she got me to unleash all my fury at Micheal Bishop. He wants me to give up, I will not give him that victory." Arrianna noted. "But aside from that. Now I have to think about my best friend. I have friends in the Defense College's Special Academy of Intelligence that is monitoring your brother's reaction to you getting married. I asked a few favors for them to flag any intel that may indicate he's trying to kill you, Mattias, or your family." She smiled.
"Pallas is always trying to kill us" Phoenix replied. "But my father has him on a tight leash at the moment." Phoenix had her own people in the Erisian Military giving her information.
Arri responded. "It's valuable to have allies Phee. I have one more thing to ask when it's time." Arri noted. "I want you to officiate... months down the line when I give her this."
"Of course, if it is what you both want" Phoenix replied.
"I will have to speak to her.. Eventually when she's settled down some. Right now I have my eyes on many things. Including my science cadets." Arrianna noted. "They're about to learn what's expected of them in starfleet. And I will be ever so happy to show them they won't be living a quiet existence studying nebulae."
Phoenix nodded. "As long as Kyle Reece agrees then it is fine."
