Victor was in a session with Tate when the power went out. “Tate, you can come with me if you want. I need to get to Engineering,” He grabbed his tricorder which he had placed on the desk earlier. He pressed his communication badge again but to no avail. Victor pushes the door open finally. “Of all days when we were set to get a new Assistant Chief of Engineering.”

In Engineering, Lt. JG. Louis Bordeaux was trying to restore power. Emergency generators had came on but they needed to work fast. He had several engineers working with him.

Lt. JG. Tarr Zell was working with several engineers to restore power as he climbed the walls to place the cold wires in place.

Lorelei was filling in for Napoleon was she was working on Communications. She heard he was busy helping people in the Holodeck.

Petty Officer Lance Collins was injured earlier but fortunately Tarr was able to carry him to safety. Now he was managing with a broken leg as he pushed himself.

Lieutenant Tonya King was managing getting the engineers supplies. She knew her parents were with her children in their quarters. She sighed as she was hoping Victor would make it back in time but she received word he was stuck on the counseling ward. She still has not seen the new assistant Starfleet promised engineering yet.

In a very deep voice, Tarr Zell said to all, “Temporary power is about to be restored but only confined to this deck. From there, we can get it to go to the other decks. Should be up in fifteen minutes.”

“Might be longer,” Louis interrupted. “Safety is of the upmost.”

“Louis,” Tonya interjected, “True but Zell’s plan to have the power gradually restored will be the safest and quickest way.”

Lorelei shook her head. “Dang. It is like we were in the battle with the Romulans.,” remembering a childhood memory, “Communications have been hit hard.”

“Do not worry Lorelei,” Louis said as he saw five engineers walking in.”Petty Officer Angela Carline, help Lorelei. Ensigns Wallace Williams and Vostok, help Tarr Zell. Petty Officer Carl York, you help Tonya and whoever you are, come help me.”

“Yeoman Francis Stalloni,” Francis answered. “Happy to obliged.”

“Carl,” Tonya ordered, “Where are all the others?”

“Trapped on other decks,” Carl replied. “I know some were in the hangar area.”

“Just wish we knew what was going on,” Louis said to Francis. “Let us focus on getting Engineering back up”

At that moment, eight engineers walked in. They all looked very ragged but they all went to their stations to get everything up.

One of the engineers said, “Y’all, two engineers were killed earlier trying to get here. Ensign Brian Heck and Ensign Tasha Yang got hit with radiation but we were able to prevent it from spreading. Brian was trying to do something clever but to it backfired on him.”

Tonya facepalmed herself. “Brian always did things but never asked for help. Please everyone,ask if you are not sure.”

Tarr smiled. “Hopefully ten minutes now.”

All the engineers present worked hard to do what they could.
