Triston looked around as he pulled himself up through the open turbolift hatch and rolled onto deck 16.

Behind him Clary followed suit and then they both turned back to help Lieutenant Triannath and her two youngest children up.

Serenity's eldest child Raye was the second last person up through the lift doors behind her siblings. Behind her came Lieutenant JG Nerinath sh'Rhilror one of the flight controllers.

Lieutenant JG Nerinath sh'Rhilror had requested a cabin change a few months before due to wanting a change of scenery and had ended up on deck 20 next to the Triannath family.

Triston and Clary had escaped their quarters on deck 21 and for some reason, Triston had been nagged with the feeling that they needed to go up rather than to the nearest shelter.

This had been a good thing as they had found Nerinath and Raye struggling to help Serenity who had a broken arm with the twins. The twins were 11 years old but they were still children and the situation they found themselves in was scary.

Neri had with a relieved smile put Triston in charge of Koray and Clary in charge of Celene both of whom were scared, while Raye bound her mother's Arm and Neri worked on a console. Then they as a group had made their way through tubes and the turbolift shafts upwards.

Triston knew he had to check on his friends. Yes he admitted Miran was still his friend. Not that she seemed to care. He had been the recipient of the coldest shoulder ever from the Erisian Teen. And the daggers she glared at Clary were just not on. And they, Miran and Triston had argued over it and since then they had not spoken. But he needed to make sure his best friend was ok..

The one thing he and Miran never discussed was the time they had found the crashed Elysium and their future selves. Both had spoken with their future selves and even though he never spoke about it, he remembered that his olderself had told him that their friendship was more important than anything else. He also suspected that their alternative older selves were lovers. Not that it had ever been confirmed. But he was with Clary now and Miran would have to accept it.

Neri sat on the deck while Raye moved towards the cabin listed as 01. The door was ajar. She went inside slowly, carefully. And then came back.

"Trashed. But no one is inside. I am sure Mattias got Miran, Tristi and the twins to the shelter. Upstairs... there are missing parts so if they got out they will be at the Shelter." Raye said, sitting beside her mother on the deck.

Neri and Serenity exchanged looks. They both were not so certain about that. Anything could have happened, the commodore could be dead as could her family.

Clary looked around. She was not a fan of Miran Lalor and her interactions with the Commodore were extremely limited. She was also not a big fan of Raye or of that Tristi girl, the foundling as she was snidely known among certain groups. But she knew that Triston was still friends with Miran and she would respect that as long as the 17 year old respected the fact that Triston was Clary's boyfriend and not her minion.

"So now what?" Clary asked the two officers.

"The shelters" Serenity said firmly.

Neri nodded in agreement. "We get you cadets and the kids to the shelters and Serenity to a medic then we find out what is going on."

Clary sighed "okay" she said.

"Cadet you don't have like it, you just need to do it." Serenity said firmly.

"But..."

"Clary." Triston said warningly. He had been through this sort of thing before, having lived on starships most of his life. He also knew better than to argue with superior officers in this situation.

She subsided and nodded. She was not happy about it. But she also knew he was right.

Neri stood and helped Serenity to her feet.

The twins and Raye exchanged looks and joined them standing.

Clary sighed and followed suite with Triston.

The group slowly and cautiously made their way to the shelters.
