Andrinn's door opened when he came close enough to it for him to walk inside his own apartment. He wasn't thinking, just doing at the moment. He wasn't sure to what to even think, as he just got home from his recent counseling appointment.
The Counselor let Andrinn know that someone close to him had died. Well, at least a former host.
Jarin and Yanas were married quite some time ago, even by Trill standards. While the hosts had been married in 1995, by Earth years, it felt like it was just yesterday for Andrinn.
Andrinn had joined with the Orin symbiant back in the mid-2050's and had only been the third host for Orin. The fact that Andrinn was also part El-Aurian just meant that both Andrinn and Orin would become life-long companions. At least until Andrinn finally met his maker.
Andrinn walked into his living room and climbed onto the couch, wrapping himself in a blanket that he had laying there for moments like this one. Andrinn wasn't sure what he should be feeling or experiencing at this moment. He was never forced to even think about it until this moment, as those memories were such a long time ago. But, the raw pain he was feeling for a host of the Hunt symbiant that he hadn't seen for quite some time was real.
Rolling over, so that he could look at the ceiling of his apartment, Andrinn just sighed. He knew that the previous host of the Hunt symbiant was still on Trill at the time of their passing because of a recent publication that they had made with a university on the Trill homeworld.
When Andrinn had read the publication, he could see a bit of Yanas within it and wanted to reach out to tell them that he was proud of their work. However, Andrinn was slightly worried that if he reached out to them, he would have been rejected because of how long it had been since they last spoke.
Andrinn had made a promise to the most recent host that he would stay in contact with them more often, but had broken that promise due to how much Andrinn had been working with the Federation Diplomatic Corps, which is why the death had hurt so much more for Andrinn.
"Why did you have to die like that? It was just...a simple shuttle trip from the Trill homeworld to the Federation Starbase in orbit. Heck, a transporter would have been much more easy and quick, but ever since the early days, you never trusted transporters, did you Hunt?" Andrinn said to himself, remembering back when transporters were introduced on the Trill homeworld.
The Hunt symbiant wasn't trusting of the transporter systems that either the Trill or the Federation used. The various hosts of the Hunt symbiant believed that they couldn't be trusted until they were used more often, which caused the hosts to use the shuttles more often. Andrinn hated it as he all he could think back to was his first love dying in that shuttle accident.
Andrinn wanted to say something, so he grabbed a PADD from the table and said, "Computer, begin recording...."
