One box. That was all that was left of Alana’s quarters above the Elysium. All that could be salvaged was a few shirts from home, a small portrait of a younger Lana standing below one of her family's apple trees, a coffee mug with the phrase “I dont do morning well”, an old battered tarot deck, and a couple of candles. She cursed having to replicate new uniforms and bathroom supplies. The list of daily essentials she would have to go without was constantly being added to. She tried to think back to when she had become so high maintenance.

One her was to Jason’s quarters, her new temporary home if not permanent if he was willing, she thought about the dresses and dancing shoes she lost. It was unsympathetic to be upset about them. There were crew that lost far more than personal items, some had lost their life. When she arrived she balanced the box on her left hip and hit the chime.

Jason had been busy moving items in his quarters after seeing the destruction of Lana's. He had left her to pack what she could salvage as he made his quarters "Lana friendly." He felt terrible for her and would have stayed to help her but for the fact he felt she needed time alone to scream, get mad or cry.

Thankfully his quarters were more or less in one piece. Paintings had gotten knocked off the walls. His aquarium had been tossed to the floor and the fish without benefit of a home died. He had rather unceremoniously flushed them and then got all the glass out of the carpet. He was now in the process of moving some articles of clothing out of his closet, to make room for Lana's belongings. He paused in his transfer of clothes and hoped Lana would decide to make this arrangement a permanent one. He had just finished moving some clothes when the door chime sounded.

Heading to the door, he opened it and found Lana standing there balancing a box on her left hip. "Lana!" He greeted happily. "Here, let me take that." He said reaching for the box. "Come on it." He said moving out of the way so she could do just that.

Lana handed over the box, placed a quick kiss on Jasons cheek, then entered his quarters. She slipped her shoes off near the entrance and plopped on the couch bearing her face in the cushions. "It's all gone." She said morbidly.

Jason took the box let the door slide shut and followed Lana to the couch. "Lana." He said softly. "I am so sorry. Don't take this wrong but are you sure?" He continued but the words sounded so inadequate. "I'll help you replace everything you lost. I mean it, everything. Plus, everything I have is yours." He reached a hand out and touched her cheek lightly. "Come on, I know I'm not much but you still have me and I do love you very much. We'll get through this."

Sitting up long gave Jason a long look, "Your more then everything I need. Don't ever think your less then that." She nudged him with her thigh playfully. "To be honest it was kind of overwhelming. Digging through the wreckage. Its nothing I cant live without but I think my hopes were just a little too high even though I knew better."

Jason chuckled at Lana's nudge, glad that she wasn't so despondent. "Your very kind Lana and I love you for it." He paused for a moment, "I have a surprise for you. I was saving it for a special moment and this looks like it. I'll be right back." As he got up and disappeared into the bedroom.

Sitting up, Lana pulled her legs beneath her and looked around Jason's quarters. It was equal to the size of hers and more then big enough for the two of them. She had spent more then enough nights curled up with him in this exact spot. But now it was different and she felt like she was imposing.

Jason returned a few moments later carrying a large and elegantly wrapped box. "I was worried it wouldn't be here but it is intact even if the wrapping is a little scrunched up." He handed Lana the box. "I love you Lana." He said as he sat down next to her on the couch.

Wide eyed Lana accepted the box. "Jason..." She said in shock as she took in the wrinkled package. Lana loved receiving gifts, the surprise and knowing thought had gone into such a gesture for her was heart warming. "You didn't have to do this...." It dawned on her that this present had been here this whole time, that he had gotten it prior to the chaos. It made it all the more precious. She gave Jason a smile before slowly unwrapping the ribbon and removing the lid. Her eyes started to blur as she pulled out an elegant red dress from the box. A pair of heels below it. "It's beautiful!" She jumped up and kissed Jason fiercely but quickly. "I'm going to go try it on!" She started towards the bathroom before remembering the shoes and ran back to grab them. Lana was giddy as she preceded to go put on the unexpected gift.

Jason sat quietly but nervously as Lana opened the box. He hoped she liked what he had gotten her. When she said he didn't have to do this. He shook his head, "Yes, I do Lana. You deserve this and so much more." He beamed as she kissed him and ran into the bathroom to try the dress on. Stopping briefly to return to get the shoes. As she disappeared into the bathroom. Jason smiled. He was thrilled Lana liked her gift. Now he couldn't wait to see her in her new dress and shoes.

In the bathroom Lana gently removed the dress from its box, enjoying the feel of the lightweight fabric between her fingers. She could hardly wait to put it on. She quickly undressed and slipped the dress on over her head. It was the perfect length, not restricting in her legs given the deep slit down the side. She slid the heels on next. It had been months since she had worn anything but boots and instantly felt more feminine than she ever had. Before leaving the bathroom, she untied her hair so that it hung loosely around her shoulders. Her giddiness instantly turned into a heat as she gazed at her expression. The dress hugged her in all the right places to show off her best physical features. It was almost too good to be true.

When Lana emerged from the bathroom she paused noting Jason was still seated on the couch. She leaned against the door frame and waited for his eyes to find her.

Jason sat on the couch as Lana ran into the bathroom to try on her dress and her shoes. He loved her so very much and he wanted to see her happy or at least happier. Hopefully the dress and shoes would be a step in the right direction. He heard the door open, but no Lana came to show him the dress. His mind filled with dread, maybe she didn't like it. He slowly turned his head and stopped as he caught sight of Lana in the dress and shoes. His eyes widening at the sight of her leaning against the door frame. The dress fit her perfectly and accentuated her lithe, beautiful frame. Her long-toned legs on display. Lana's hair was loose and fell on her shoulders, framing her face perfectly. He rose slowly from the couch and moved to her. As he got close, he reached a hand out and gently caressed her cheek. "Lana." He whispered and then suddenly kissed her, wrapping his arms around her in a hug. "Baby, you look fantastic."

Lana's arms instantly circled around Jason, returning his kiss with more passion than she knew she had in the moment. She was suddenly breathless, her skin burning delightfully everywhere their bodies met. "I don't believe I've ever owned a dress as exquisite and devilish as this one." She left a slow trail of kisses from Jason's mouth to his ear where she whispered "I love it. Thank you." Her teeth dragged on the soft skin of his earlobe.

Jason continued to hold Lana and the world disappeared around them. Time seemed to stand still. It was just Lana and himself. It was heaven and she was an angel, his angel. He brought her closer and kissed her neck and throat. With soft, velvety kisses, to delight her. Her skin soft, silky and creamy. He wondered how he got so lucky to have a woman as wonderful as Lana. "You look gorgeous Lana, simply gorgeous and you are welcome." He replied. He led her back to the couch. "Would you like a glass of wine?"

"Oh your suck a tease Jason!" Lana followed him back to the couch trying her best to reign in the heat that was spread across her skin from his gentle kisses. She twirled once, enjoying the way the fabric of the dress billowed out around here before settling once more against her frame. "I think a glass of wine would be lovely." She sat on the couch smiling up at him.

"A tease? Moi?" Jason gave a boyish chuckle and his smile stretched from ear to ear. "Not me Lana. I'm setting the mood." He said from the kitchen where he was pouring two glasses of sparkling red wine. He returned to her, handing her a glass. "A glass of wine for the lovely lady." he said as his eyes shone with the love he felt for Lana. As he sat down next to her, he gently clinked his glass to hers. "Here's to you Lana, who halves my sorrows and doubles my joys. I love you more than yesterday, less than tomorrow. May we love as long as we live and live as long as we love."

“You know sometimes I could swear you recite ancient poetry to me or something.” Lana teased as she brought her glass to her lips after they clanked them together. “You are definitely the romantic in this relationship for sure.” She laughed gently as she added,” But I love you as well. More than anything.”

Jason blinked once, twice then laughed at Lana's teasing. He took a sip of his wine and found it most satisfying. "Me? A Romantic?" He teased back. "I guess I am Lana and it's because it is so easy to be romantic to you. However..." He continued, "If you'd prefer I whisper delightfully naughty things I plan for us to do together."

"Oh? I do enjoy naughty things." She winked at Jason before her expression turned a bit somber. "Are you sure your ready for me to move in? I can find another place to stay. I don't want to intrude."

He chuckled at her wink. "Oh? Is that a fact? I know you enjoy naughty things. We'll have to get back to that." He pulled back to look at her better. "Are you kidding? I want you here Lana! You listen to me Lana Balfour, you aren't intruding at all. You're making everything so much better. Please never feel like you are intruding." To emphasize his point, he kissed her full on the lips. Ready to see what life had in store for them. Whatever it was good or bad, they would face it together.
