Getting a unique invitation

Andrinn was working in the makeshift Diplomatic Corps while the ship was being surveyed by different departments and personnel. The general consensus was that the ship had been through quite a bit, even though she had been slowly put back together enough to work over the last ten months or so.

Andrinn had been working with the Diplomatic Corps onboard, as well as the Diplomatic Protection Team under the leadership of Captain Mattias Richardson, to make sure that the Diplomats onboard were protected properly. Captain Richardson wanted to make sure there were enough people to protect everyone, but there weren't as much protection team members as there once was. Andrinn knew that the idea that he threw out there would be something that would be a logistical nightmare, but it would be necessary to make sure that everyone didn't burn themselves out over the next few days, weeks, and months until we got back to Federation Space.

However, something knocked Andrinn out of the trance and out of his own thoughts. His PADD had begun beeping with a notification with a special invitation. Andrinn flipped it over and opened the message to see what was going on and what he needed to do.

The message was the invitation to join an away mission to one of the local ships. there was several away teams being formed, each with their own mission to find something to use for repairs to the ship. The away team that Andrinn was joining was to find power sources that were compatible with Federation technology and that could be used onboard the USS Elysium.

Andrinn had done a double take, mainly because he didn't seem to be the first person that would be invited onto an away mission. He was a diplomat and the team that he was to join were trying to find power sources. Andrinn wasn't an engineer or an operations officer. So, he wasn't sure of what use he would be to the mission.

However, Andrinn clicked his tongue to the side of his mouth and thought about it for a moment as well. Andrinn got to see some of the earliest Federation starships and Earth Starfleet vessels that came out of Earth and other founding members. Andrinn thought back to those days, when various technologies were a mixture from various species, such as the shield technology from the Vulcans and the offensive weaponry from the Andorians and the Tellerites.

Thus, Andrinn was excited in a way and once they headed off for the away mission, he wanted to make sure that he could help out in the best way that he could. Even if Andrinn was a bit rusty by modern standards. Not only that, but Andrinn would be able to use his diplomatic skills to talk to people that the crew might encounter while they're on these ships, if anyone was left behind. And, to think, Andrinn thought that he wouldn't be able to have any sort of diplomatic fun after the long few months that the crew had been through.

Andrinn felt a bit of excitement and he was happy to help. He replied back to the request and began gathering stuff he would need because he needed to be down in the shuttlebay within the hour.
