Make Wishes Come True

Mission: MISSION 0 - History Speaks
Location: Gary and Lia's Quarters
613 words - 1.2 OF Standard Post Measure

Gary was in his, Lia and Little Lia's quarters. Lia was at the holodeck with Little Lia, for some mother - daughter bonding. He smiled as he thought on it. They weren't Lia and Gary anymore. Now they were the Taylors, a family and it felt good. With Lia and LL gone he was alone. He and Lia were talking (which was good) Lia's frame of mind seemed better as well and he was immensely pleased with that. It made everything easier to deal with when you didn't have to pick and choose your words or worry about ticking the other person off.

He loved Lia with every fiber in his body and it had pained him to see her lash out at Phoenix like she did and even him. However, what pained him even more was her inability to see that he, Phoenix weren't her enemies and were trying to help her. Her mind set was one of self-destruction. However, she now seemed to realize that whether it was the loss of rank or loss of position as security chief or having little Lia and being a mom, he didn't know. What he did know was her attitude was much improved.

They had rearranged the Tea House to give LL a proper bedroom of her own, complete with furry people (animals) a bed, with nightstand and night light along with a dresser. All in soft shades of pink. It was all very girly. It had been a lot of work but fun. LL seemed to have loved it when she was ushered into the room for the first time. No tension in the air, no formal, cold stiff talk between them. It was like it was before Lia's time in the brig. He did know that Lia had made a friend in Carol Dolton the brig officer and he was glad about that. Carol seemed to be able to talk to Lia, have a calming effect on her. He hoped they stayed friends. He would have to see what he could do to get Carol to become an officer again. For now, though he had a song for Lia. To show her importance to him and his love for her. "Computer where is Lieutenant Commander Taylor?" He inquired. "Lieutenant Commander Taylor is in holodeck one at this moment. He nodded in approval, "Good, play Time in a Bottle by Jim Croce and broadcast it into holodeck one." He finished. He wanted Lia to hear the song now and not when she came back. "Acknowledged. Broadcasting song now."

If I could save time in a bottle
The first thing that I'd like to do
Is to save every day 'til eternity passes away
Just to spend them with you
If I could make days last forever
If words could make wishes come true
I'd save every day like a treasure, and then
Again, I would spend them with you
But there never seems to be enough time
To do the things you want to do once you find them
I've looked around enough to know
That you're the one I want to go through time with
If I had a box just for wishes
And dreams that had never come true
The box would be empty
Except for the memory of how they were answered by you
But there never seems to be enough time
To do the things you want to do once you find them
I've looked around enough to know
That you're the one I want to go through time with

That done, Gary got to work on preparing dinner for his family. Oh, what a glorious feeling that was!

Talk about the proud Father, "The Taylors" will move on from Lia's little problems. Once again Jeff does what Jeff does, writes a warm heartfelt post that takes the reader with him.
