Mission: Season 6: Episode 4: Memory Lane

A few years ago, first cousins Thor and Leif had a first cousin name Doctor Kristopher Erickson. Kristopher for years had a hard time for finding the one he wanted to marry. He always felt it was his duty to get married. Problems were he was extremely good looking, great job and he had lots of land. His father Johann Erickson and his mother Sif Magnus Erickson upon retiring gave all their belongings to Kristopher.

So in the last eight years, Kristopher’s companions didn’t really loved him. Finally two years ago, he met vetenarian Doctor Joy Olafson. Joy really lived up to her name. She brought pure honest to God joy to all she met. She was not a needy person. Of course she loved animals for she had several dogs, cats, birds and snakes.

“Cousins,” Kristopher said to Leif and Magnus, “Glad you two could come here. Both of you will be my best man. After all, you both are my favorite cousins and we had a lot of wild times then Thor had to go get himself married.” He paused for a brief moment looking at Leif. “Leif, you are next. Are you still pining over the one you were in love with years ago.”

Leif takes a deep breath.”Seems when someone enters my heart, they always are in my heart. Even that girl in elementary school who left me for a saxophone player.”

Kristopher who was the same age as Leif replied saying, “Oh yes Linda. She was a sweet girl. Still is. But that is in the past. Now guys, I have to go over what we are going to do when Joy and I get married. There are only ten guests outside the wedding party. They will stand on land. First Thor will walk on the ice with Athena and Leif will follow escorting Joy’s sister Hope. Then Joy will walk on the ice with her father.”

“Wait a minute,” Thor said, “Where would you be?”

“I will be on the rock with her brother Captain Olaf Olafson VII, who will say the ceremony,” Kristopher answered Thor’s question.

“Of course,” Thor replied. “Do you realize you are literally walking on water to get married. How biblical of you.”

“Never thought of that in those terms but thank you for saying that,” Kristopher said, “Even though we are getting by a Captain, it is nice to have Jesus in the ceremony in some form or fashion.”

“Indeed,” Leif said.

Later when the wedding happened, Joy listened to Kristopher recite a prepared speech he had written himself. He then read several letters people had sent him

Joy felt teary because she never felt this kind of love before. She then recited the vows she had written. She expressed her love, devotion and why she wanted to marry. She too read several others letters who wrote to her.

Her brother Olaf proceeded to marry them. He knew neither like to be the center of attention, so he just focused on what marriage suppose to be.

After they were pronounced husband and wife, they had a nice reception. They were beamed to an undisclosed location.

Thor turned to his other cousin saying, “You will be next.”

Leif chuckled saying, “Do not hold your breath.”
