Calin was in her office, doing yet another stock take of supplies. She had gathered what medicinal supplies she could, on the planet that had been their salvation, while they repaired their vessel. But even the small growing plots she had had installed in a corner of medical were not providing the amounts they would require.

A few moments later, the sickbay doors slid open and Olmex entered, holding his left arm against his side. "Doctor?" He called out, unsure if there was anyone else present.

Hearing the call Calin came out of her office and frowned at the sight of the Marine. "What in elements happened to you?" She asked bruskly as she walked over to him.

A lop-sided grin crossed his face as he saw the woman he had come to love, since they had first got together, following the crossing. "I was running my warriors through some multi-opponent sparring drills. I was going against four at once and one got a lucky hit on my shoulder, dislocating it. I popped it back in, but it still hurts."

She tutted and picked up her medical tricorder and a painkiller. "Marines" She said mockingly. "Danger magnets." She ran the scan and then used the painkiller to relieve his pain. She then picked up the Dermal regenerator and ran it over his shoulder. As they were alone, she lowered her voice. "Anything happening I should know about?"

As he had already noticed that they were alone, and the small signal jammer that he always carried on his person ensured they weren't being surveiled, he lowered his voice as well. 'Mishka is getting paranoid. She already is having doubts about the human, Pierpoint. And she is considering reaching out to the Starfleet ship, to parley and join forces." While she worked in his injured shoulder, he reached over with his left hand and gently caressed her right cheek. "Have dinner with me tonight."

"Hmm i might." she teased. "And she is right to be cautious about Pierpoint. He is too... smug."

"He is a human and a proven traitor," Olmex growled softly. "He should be in the brig being tortured for information, not walking around as the second in command of this ship." He then moved his left hand to gently hold Calin's lower jaw. "Careful how you tease, my love. You know it brings the beast out."

She merely smiled. Then she stepped back. "Taking orders from him makes my skin crawl. I am hoping the Riov kills him. I would not work hard to save him that is for sure."

Olmex released his hold as Calin stepped back. "You may just get your wish, my love. We are in a dangerous area of space afterall. Accidents can happen."

"Hmm a lovely thought. One hopes it happens." Calin said as she put her tools away. "Though an alliance with the Lloannen'galae, would be an idea. They have good officers there. Their Leader is well respected by those high in our government."

Nodding, Olmex replied. "And, as much as it pains me to say, it is true that Starfleet possesses the best engineers in known space. I imagine, should Mishka allow it, they could assist in our repairs as well."

Calin nodded. "Their chief medical officer is renowned. It would be nice to speak with a professional."

He nodded in agreement. "And I've heard that their Marine Commander, if she survived the crossing, is a formidable warrior. I'd be interested in seeing how well she is trained."

"Which will be much to Pierpoint's disgust," Calin replied. "Be nice to watch him turn.. Humans turn red when mad..."

They do so when strangled as well, my love." He gave her a conspiratorial grin as he finished speaking. As far as he was concerned, the traitor was living on borrowed time.

"Hmmm strangled... now there is an image for me to think about." She shuddered with a delightful smile. "A nice image indeed."

A hungry grin suddenly filled Olmex's face, when he saw Calin's reaction. "Perhaps I will have the opportunity to show you, in person, one day. It is a very satisfying experience afterall.

"Hmm, I believe there will be a line to do it when the Riov finally lets us all try and kill him."

Olmex chuckled darkly. "Then, when the time comes, we should ensure that we are the front of that line, my love."

"Agreed." Calin replied. "I wonder if I can make his blood really boil... I will need to look into it"

Olmex couldn't help but grin at Calin's thirst for blood. It eas one of the things that attracted him to her in the first place. Of course, had the Praeter not put him on this assignment to watch the Commander, he might never had met the man's niece. Back home, they would have been in vastly different circles. But out here, in the wilderness, they had met, and they had discovered an immediate and mutual attraction for one another. The rest simply fell into place.

"I'm sure you could," he replied softly. "Humans are so weak, afterall. It's amazing they have lasted as long as they have."

"Hmmm," she was not really sure about that. "Well, you should get back to work."

Arching his right eyebrow, Olmex suddenly wondered about the abrupt change. "Have I done something to offend you, Calin?"

She gave him a smile. It was warm. "No, I just don't share that belief about the Humans, I feel we underestimate them too much."

Seeing her smile at him like that, warmed Olmex's heart. "Perhaps you're right. Individually, they are soft. However, when spurred on into action, as a group, they can be formidable. The Romulous-Earth War proved that. To be beaten, we would need overwhelming odds in our favor. Enough to crush them in one stroke. If even a handful of humans remain anywhere, they always seem to come back with a vengeance."

While Olmex spoke as he did about the Humans, and felt that, at her core, the Romulan Empire was far superior, as a warrior, he did hold an almost begrudging respect for them as well. "They were certainly survivors, though still quite young as a species."

She smiled. "Well you better get back to work before that veruul comes looking for you."

This elicited a growl and a slight scowl. "If only to keep any negative action from coming to your feet, Heis'he." Reluctantly, he finally got to his feet and stepped around the biobed, lifting his right hand up to gently raise her chin, so he could look into her eyes again. "Dinner, tonight?" He asked with a soft grin.

"Hmm of course. I will see you then," Calin smiled. "Good Luck."

Olmex smiled again, then leaned down and kissed Calin, before finally stepping away and heading back to his soldiers.

Calin smiled as she watched him walk away then she headed back into her office.
