Gallia had taken the restless Tayalas for a walk, hoping she could tire the little one out enough that she'd nap for a bit, "Okay, love, let's go." She sighed, walking up and down the corridor in hopes that sleep would soon overtake the insanely energetic sprog soon enough.

Tayalas wasn't interested in sleep, however, there were too many things to see. New things, new people, she'd had naps before, this was all new! It was then something caught her eye from down the corridor a ways, her eyes widening, she gasped, "Sana...." and pointed at what appeared to be a bipedal horse.

"What is it, Tay?" Gallia began, then instantly knew what had her daughter's undivided attention, "Well, 'ave ya ever seen the like?"

Glancing up from his PADD as he gently walked around the Elysium S’hib could see two little eyes transfixed on him, He hadn’t expected to see a small child at this time of day but her reaction was very similar to many other children back on earth. “Hello there.” S’hib snorted happily at the child, stopping and getting down onto one knee a little ways from the pair, Not wanting to frighten the little girl by standing at his full height. “Lieutenant.” He added, Glancing up at Lieutenant Norris.

"Umm, hello, Ensign." Gallia nodded in reply, trying to play it cool since, like Tayalas, this was a brand new experience for her, "Gallia Norris, and the little one is my daughter, Tayalas."

Tayalas didn't even hear her mother, she was much more interested in the new person who looked like a horsey. She gently rubbed her little blue hands on his muzzle, giggling in delight.

"She likes ya." Gallia laughed.

“I noticed.” S’hib said holding back a laugh as he smiled. “Hello Tayalas,” He added, looking back down at the little girl almost going cross eyed. “I’m S’hib.” He said softly, ears flicking gently as his muzzle twitched from her hands. “It’s nice to meet you both.”

Tayalas looked at the new person and said, "Sib." before kissing him on his snout and hugging him.

"She's just learnin' to talk, this one." Gallia smiled, "Seems to do her best with words with the S sound. So far it's Sana and Sib."

“Sib is good enough.” S’hib said with a slight chuckle, gently placing a single arm around the adorable child. “I take it this little warp core is keeping you up?” He added while looking at Gallia.

"You didnae tell me ya were a psychic, S'hib." Gallia laughed, "And, yeah, she's a bundle of energy for sure. Wish our warp core ran as well as this one."

"She'll outpace us all on impulse..." S'hib said pocketing his PADD before scooping up the little Andorian girl by her waist, gently placing Tayalas on his shoulders. "Let's see about warp." He snorted, gently clasping his hands around her ankles before slowly standing up. "Hold on tight." He said softly as he felt her little blue hands on his mane.

Gallia's first instinct was to panic, but it was quickly killed by Tayalas' squeals of delight, causing her to sit back and watch the child and her new friend play.

Tayalas wasn't really sure what was going on, but it was fun, and that was the important part.

"So what's your role on this ship Lieutenant?" S'hib said as he briskly trotted down the long corridor, giggles echoing alongside his hooves as he pretended to go fast.

"Well, I hate to be a stereotype, but I am in yellow and I'm a Scot." Gallia laughed, "Guess it's in the blood, born to be an engineer. What of you, aside from your clear talents as a children's entertainer?"

Turning around with a snort S'hib picked up the pace every so slightly and headed back down the corridor. "My species is quite family orientated, We look after each other's young..." He said as he trotted on past Gallia and down the other end of the corridor, feeling tayala's heart beating in the back of his head. "As for what I do, I'm a big scary security officer," S'hib said with a smirk. "Can't you tell?" He added as his right ear flicked constantly from a little blue hand grabbing at it.

Gallia giggled a little, the very idea that this... frankly beautiful person across from her could scare anyone was almost surreal, "Guess it comes in handy to be scary in security." She said between chuckles, "Your boss is positively frightening."

Tayalas giggled, thoroughly loving every second she was spending with her Sib, though she was starting to get tired now and yawned a little.

"Oh, I know." S'hib said with wide eyes and he thought back to his meeting on DS9. "But it does sound like someone might be running out of dilithium." He added, coming to a stop by Gallia and kneeling back down, Lifting Tayalas off his back and placing her gently beside her mother.

Tayalas giggled a little, reaching for her mother and yawning, moving her tiny hand and saying, "Sib."

"I think that was good night." Gallia smiled as she picked Tayalas up; sure as she said it the child was asleep in mere moments. Not wanting to make any excess noise and blow this moments before impossible occurrence she whispered, "Thank you, S'hib."

Keeping quite Shib simply nodded, watching Gallia walk away with her daughter, hoping he had allowing them to both get some sleep.
